Epivir (Lamivudine)
Informations générales
Epivir appartient à une classe de médicaments appelés inhibiteurs nucléosidiques de la transcriptase inverse (INTI). Il est utilisé avec d'autres médicaments pour traiter le SIDA et le VIH. Ce n'est pas un remède pour le VIH ou le SIDA et il n'empêche pas la propagation du VIH aux autres gens par contact sexuel ou par contamination sanguine. Ce médicament peut également être utilisé pour prévenir l'infection par le VIH après le contact avec le virus.
Posologie
Prenez Epivir conformément aux prescriptions de votre médecin. Prenez ce médicament par voie orale avec ou sans nourriture, habituellement une ou deux fois par jour. La dose recommandée pour le traitement du VIH ou du SIDA chez les adultes est de 150 mg deux fois par jour ou 300 mg une fois par jour. Pour les enfants de 3 mois à 16 ans, la dose recommandée est basée sur le poids, d'environ 4 mg par kg deux fois par jour (jusqu'à un maximum de 150 mg deux fois par jour). Une faible dose peut être recommandée pour les personnes souffrant de problèmes rénaux. Prenez Epivir à la même heure chaque jour pour maintenir un taux égal du médicament dans le sang.
Précautions
Avant de prendre Epivir vous devriez aviser votre médecin si vous avez eu une inflammation du pancréas (pancréatite) autrefois, ou si vous avez une maladie du foie, une insuffisance hépatique, la cirrhose, l’hépatite, une maladie des reins, une insuffisance rénale, des allergies. Ce médicament peut provoquer le vertige. Ne conduisez pas de véhicule ou n’effectuez pas d’activité qui exige de la vigilance. Évitez la consommation des boissons alcoolisées. L'alcool peut augmenter vos risques de problèmes de foie ou de pancréatite. Avertissez votre médecin si vous êtes enceinte ou allaitez.
Contre-indications
Vous ne devriez pas prendre Epivir si vous y êtes allergique ou allergique à la lamivudine, ou à l‘un des composants inactifs du médicament.
Effets secondaires possibles
Obtenez de l'aide médicale d'urgence si vous avez des maux de tête, des vertiges, des nausées, une diarrhée, des troubles du sommeil, des rêves étranges, la dépression, l'engourdissement des mains ou des pieds, une faiblesse musculaire, les maux d'estomac ou de dos, des saignements, un pouls rapide, la peau pâle, une enflure du visage, de la langue, de la gorge, une difficulté à respirer, l’urticaire, la jaunisse (jaunissement de la peau ou des yeux), des urines foncées, une perte d'appétit, une fièvre, des frissons, des douleurs corporelles, des douleurs articulaires. Si vous remarquez d'autres effets non énumérés ci-dessus, consultez votre médecin.
Interaction des médicaments
Informez votre médecin de tous les autres médicaments que vous utilisez, notamment: l'interféron, la ribavirine, la zalcitabine, le triméthoprime. L'interaction entre deux médicaments ne signifie pas toujours que vous devez cesser de prendre l'un d'eux. Informez votre médecin ou le prescripteur de tous les médicaments sur ordonnance, en vente libre et des herbes médicinales que vous prenez.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Les symptômes de surdose sont inconnus. Si vous pensez que vous avez une surdose du médicament, cherchez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 59-77 degrés F (15-25 degrés C) à l’abri de la lumière et de l'humidité. Ne conservez pas les médicaments dans la salle de bain. Conservez tous les médicaments hors de portée des enfants et des animaux domestiques.
