Symmetrel (Amantadine)

Symmetrel è un farmaco antivirale. Esso blocca l'azione eii virus nel vostro corpo. Symmetrel viene usato per prevenire o trattare un certo tipo di influenza (influenza A). Se avete contratto l'influenza, questo farmaco potrebbe contribuire a rendere meno gravi i sintomi e ridurre il tempo di guarigione. Symmetrel è anche usato per trattare il morbo di Parkinson, per trattare e gli effetti collaterali causati dai farmaci (sintomi extrapiramidali indotte da farmaci), prodotti chimici e altre condizioni mediche.
Indicazioni
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento informare il proprio medico se si hanno:disturbi psichiatrici, abuso di sostanze, insufficienza cardiaca congestizia, glaucoma, pressione sanguigna (ipotensione), gonfiore alle mani, piedi, caviglie , convulsioni, epilessia, malattie del fegato, insufficienza epatica , cirrosi, epatite, malattie renali, insufficienza renale, eczema, allergie. Questo farmaco può provocare vertigini o sonnolenza o causare visione offuscata. Non guidare o svolgere attività che richiedono attenzione. Evitare l'assunzione di bevande alcoliche in quanto l'alcol può aumentare alcuni degli effetti collaterali. Evitare di prendere pillole dimagranti, pillole di caffeina o altri stimolanti. Assumendo uno stimolante insieme a Symmetrel può aumentare il rischio di spiacevoli effetti collaterali. Per ridurre al minimo vertigini e stordimento, alzarsi lentamente. Le persone anziane possono essere esposte a un rischio maggiore di effetti collaterali durante l'assunzione di questo farmaco.
Controindicazioni
Evitare l'assunzione di Symmetrel se si è allergici ad esso, ad amantadina cloridrato, o ad uno qualsiasi dei componenti inattivi del farmaco, se siete in gravidanza o state allattando.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si hanno:offuscamento della vista, nausea, disturbi di stomaco, sonnolenza, vertigini, cefalea, secchezza delle fauci, costipazione, nervosismo, disturbi del sonno, orticaria, gonfiore del viso, labbra, lingua, difficoltà di respirazione, rigidità muscolare, aumento rapido di peso, tremore. Se si notano altri effetti non elencati sopra, contattare il medico.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso, in particolare riguardo a:fenotiazine (tioridazina, proclorperazina), diuretici (idroclorotiazide, triamterene), farmaci anticolinergici (benztropina, scopolamina, aloperidolo, diciclomina), farmaci antipsicotici (clorpromazina, thiothixene, loxapina), chinidina, mepenzolate, glicopirrolato, atropina, diciclomina. Si noti inoltre che l'interazione fra due farmaci non necessariamente deve portare ad una sospensione dell'utilizzo di uno dei due farmaci. Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso compresi i farmaci da prescrizione,quelli da banco e i prodotti erboristici.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. I sintomi da sovradosaggio sono:battito cardiaco accelerato o irregolare, sonnolenza grave, mancanza di respiro, diminuzione della minzione, peggioramenti dell'umore o turbe mentali, ansia, aggressività, confusione, allucinazioni, convulsioni, svenimenti.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 59-77 gradi F (15-25 ° C) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità. Non conservare in bagno. Conservare il farmaco lontano dalla portata dei bambini e degli animali domestici.
