Información general

Instrucciones
Tome Zerit exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. La dosis recomendada en adultos se basa en el peso corporal. Aquellos que pesan menos de 60 kg por lo general toman una dosis de 30 mg cada 12 horas, mientras que los que pesan 60 kg o más toman una dosis de 40 mg cada 12 horas. Los adultos que tienen insuficiencia renal, e están tomando ciertos medicamentos requieren dosis más bajas. Tome Zerit con o sin alimentos, al mismo tiempo todos los días. Tómelo con un vaso lleno de agua.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Zerit debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene enfermedad del hígado, insuficiencia hepática, cirrosis, hepatitis, enfermedades renales, insuficiencia renal, pancreatitis, problemas nerviosos, la neuropatía periférica, problemas de vesícula biliar, cálculos biliares, algún tipo de alergia. Evite el consumo de las bebidas alcohólicas. El alcohol puede aumentar el riesgo de problemas hepáticos o pancreatitis. Los adultos mayores pueden ser más sensibles a los efectos de la droga.
Contraindicaciones
No tome Zerit si usted es alérgico a la estavudina o a cualquiera de los ingredientes del medicamento, si está embarazada o dando de lactar. No debe ser usado por un niño menor de 3 meses de edad.
Posibles efectos secundarios
Busque atención médica de emergencia si usted tiene dolor de cabeza, heces de color claro, diarrea, náuseas, vómitos, orina oscura, pérdida del apetito, pérdida de peso, coloración amarillenta de la piel o los ojos, mareos, latidos cardíacos irregulares, dolor de estómago, cansancio, debilidad, cansancio, la espalda dolor, dolor muscular, escalofríos, inflamación del abdomen, dificultad para dormir. Interacciones con otros medicamentos

Dosis omitida
Tome la dosis que olvidó tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que ha tomado mucho de la medicina busque ayuda médica de emergencia a la vez. Los síntomas de sobredosis son adormecimiento, ardor, sensación de cosquilleo, náusea, dolor de estómago, fiebre baja, perdida del apetito, orina oscura, coloración amarillenta de la piel o los ojos.
Almacenaje
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 68-77 grados F (20-25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. No guarde los medicamentos en el cuarto de baño. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
