Zovirax (Acyclovir)

Zovirax è un farmaco antivirale. Rallenta la crescita e la diffusione del virus dell'herpes, in modo che il corpo possa combattere l'infezione. Zovirax non cura l'herpes, ma diminuisce i sintomi dell'infezione.
Indicazioni
Zovirax può essere assunto indifferentemente a stomaco pieno o vuoto. La dose indicata è di 200 mg ogni quattro ore, cinque volte al giorno per dieci giorni. Se lo si utilizza per il trattamento del herpes, la dose deve essere per gli adulti è di 400 mg due volte al giorno per 1 anno. Chiamate il vostro medico per un consiglio più accurato e ulteriori informazioni.
Precauzioni
Prima di prendere Zovirax, informare il proprio medico se si ha una malattia ai reni o al fegato se si è in gravidanza o si sta pianificando una gravidanza durante il trattamento. Evitare il contatto con gli occhi.
Controindicazioni
Non prendere Zovirax in caso di allergia o se si è affetti da malattie ai reni.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Se si presenta una reazione allergica chiamare immediatamente assistenza medica d’emergenza ad Zovirax: orticaria, difficoltà di respirazione o tumore della pelle, vertigini, mal di testa. Chiamate il vostro medico per ulteriori informazioni riguardo possibile altri effetti collaterali.
Interazione farmacologica
Il farmaco interagisce con: probenecid (Benemid), Tizanidine, vaccino contro il virus varicella, fosfenitoina, fenitoina, acido valproico. Non iniziare a utilizzare un nuovo farmaco senza informare il proprio medico.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere la medicina due volte contemporaneamente per compensare la dose dimenticata.
Sovradosaggio
Rivolgersi all’ assistenza medica di emergenza se si pensa di aver usato troppo di questo medicinale. Sintomi di sovradosaggio possono includere convulsioni e allucinazioni.
Conservazione
Conservare i farmaci a temperatura ambiente tra i 59-77 gradi F (15-25 gradi C). Conservare lontano da umidità e luce. Tenere fuori dalla portata dei bambini e lontano da animali domestici.
