Doxépine est dans un groupe de médicaments appelés les antidépresseurs tricycliques. Doxépine affecte les produits chimiques du cerveau qui peuvent devenir déséquilibrés. Il est utilisé pour traiter les symptômes de dépression, d'anxiété associée à l'alcoolisme, des troubles psychiatriques ou des états maniaco-dépressifs.
Posologie
Prenez-le conformément aux prescriptions de votre médecin. Prenez-le avec un verre d'eau, avec ou sans repas. Ne le coupez pas, ne l’ écrasez pas et ne le mâchez pas. Votre médecin peut parfois changer votre dose pour optimiser les résultats. Ne cessez pas d’utiliser la doxépine brusquement après l’utilisation pendant une longue période sinon vous pourriez avoir des symptômes désagréables de sevrage.
Précautions
Vous ne devez pas utiliser la doxépine si vous y êtes allergique, si vous avez des problèmes des yeux, une maladie du foie ou des reins ou si vous êtes enceinte. Ne buvez pas d'alcool et ne fumez pas.
Contre-indications
Évitez de le prendre si vous êtes enceinte ou si vous allaitez, ne l’administrez pas aux enfants et aux patients avec les symptômes d'allergie à la doxépine.
Effets secondaires possibles

Interaction des médicaments
Informez votre médecin de tous les autres médicaments que vous utilisez. Le médicament peut interagir avec les inhibiteurs de la MAO (moclobémide, Isocarboxazid, furazolidone, etc.), les médicaments anti-arythmiques (quinidine, propafénone, etc), les antipsychotiques (fluphénazine), les antagonistes des récepteurs H2 (ranitidine, nizatidine, cimétidine, etc.), les inhibiteurs sélectifs du recaptage de la sérotonine (ISRS)(dapoxetine, fluvoxamine, citalopram, etc.).
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Cherchez de l'aide médicale d'urgence si vous pensez que vous avez utilisé trop de médicament. Les symptômes du surdosage peuvent inclure des douleurs thoraciques, un écoeurement, une apathie ou des vertiges.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à température ambiante entre 68-77 degrés F entre (20-25 degrés C). Conservez-le à l'écart de l'humidité et de la lumière. Gardez-le hors de la portée des enfants et loin des animaux domestiques.
