Informations générales
Serevent est utilisé pour prévenir les crises d'asthme. Il agit en relaxant les muscles des voies aériennes pour améliorer la respiration. Il n’est pas utilisé pour traiter une crise d'asthme qui a déjà commencé. Serevent est aussi utilisé pour traiter les maladies pulmonaires obstructives chroniques, notamment l'emphysème et la bronchite chronique. Le salmétérol est un bronchodilatateur.
Posologie
Utilisez le médicament conformément aux prescriptions de votre médecin. Prenez-le deux fois par jour. Attendez au moins 12 heures avant de prendre ce médicament de nouveau. La dose recommandée dépend du traitement précédent de l'asthme. Agitez-le avant chaque prise et utilisez l'inhalateur en position horizontale. Evitez de faire attraper le médicament dans vos yeux.
Précautions
Discutez avec votre médecin si votre médicament n'agit pas de la manière efficace dans le traitement ou la prévention des attaques et si une crise d'asthme devient plus dangereuse. Il est possible que vous aurez besoin de 4 ou plus inhalations pendant 24 heures pendant 2 jours ou plus.
Contre-indications
Évitez d'utiliser le médicament si vous avez eu une réaction allergique aux composants.
Interaction des médicaments
Serevent peut interagir avec les médicaments pour l'ouverture des voies respiratoires, les médicaments contre l’hypertension, les inhibiteurs de MAO, les antidépresseurs tricycliques, les diurétiques et notez que l'interaction entre deux médicaments n'entraîne pas toujours ce que vous devez cesser de prendre l'un d'eux. Informez votre médecin de tous les médicaments que vous utilisez.
Effets secondaires possibles
Le médicament peut provoquer une allergie, des douleurs thoraciques, des battements cardiaques irréguliers, des tremblements, une inquiétude, une éruption, une faiblesse musculaire ou une détérioration des symptômes d'asthme, des maux de tête, un écoeurement, des nausées et des troubles du ventre. Informez votre médecin de tout effet secondaire inhabituel ou gênant.
Omission de dose
Sautez la dose oubliée s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Cherchez de l’aide médicale d'urgence si vous pensez que vous avez utilisé trop de médicament. Les symptômes du surdosage peuvent inclure l'insomnie, l’arythmie cardiaque, des douleurs thoraciques, la sécherese buccale ou des vertiges.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à température ambiante entre 59 à 77 degrés F (15-25 degrés C). Conservez-le à l'écart de l'humidité et de la lumière. Gardez-le hors de portée des enfants et loin des animaux domestiques.
