Los efectos totales de Avapro generalmente se observan en aproximadamente 4 semanas. Se puede utilizarlo solo o en combinación con diuréticos tiazídicos (por ejemplo, hidroclorotiazida).
Instrucciones
Tome Avapro exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. La dosis inicial habitual es de 150 mg al día a la misma hora cada día, con o sin alimentos (pero tomado de la misma manera cada día). El médico puede aumentar la dosis a 300 mg una vez al día si la presión arterial no se ha bajado suficientemente. La dosis inicial recomendada para las personas con nefropatía diabética es de 300 mg al día. Es importante seguir tomando este medicamento aunque se sienta bien.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Avapro usted debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene enfermedad del corazón, insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva, enfermedad renal, insuficiencia renal, enfermedad hepática, pérdida importante de líquidos y minerales del cuerpo, cualquier alergia. No use suplementos de potasio o sustitutos de la sal. Este medicamento puede causar mareos. No conduzca o realice tareas que requieren vigilancia. Levántese despacio y constante para evitar que se caiga. Limite el consumo de las bebidas alcohólicas. El alcohol puede disminuir su presión arterial y puede aumentar algunos de los efectos secundarios.
Contraindicaciones
Usted debe tomar Avapro si usted es alérgico a irbesartan o a cualquiera de los ingredientes del medicamento, está embarazada o amamantando.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Obtenga ayuda médica de emergencia si usted tiene micción dolorosa o difícil, urticaria, dolor de pecho, secreción o congestión nasal, dolor de garganta, tos, dolor de estómago, acidez, diarrea, latido cardiaco rápido, hinchazón de las manos o los pies, dolor en las articulaciones, picor, mareos, dificultad para respirar, hinchazón de la cara, labios, lengua. Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: anticoagulantes (warfarina), diuréticos (furosemida, torasemida, bumetanida), digoxina, fármacos anti-inflamatorios no esteroideos (celecoxib, etodolac, naproxeno, ibuprofeno), suplementos de potasio. La interacción entre los dos medicamentos no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina, debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato. Los síntomas de sobredosis son: mareos intensos, desmayos, latido del corazón aturdimiento, lento o irregular, somnolencia, pérdida de conciencia, dolor de cabeza, dolor de espalda.
Almacenamiento
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 59-86 grados F (15-30 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. No guarde los medicamentos en el cuarto de baño. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
