Clonidina trata la presión sanguínea alta a través de la estimulación a2 receptores en el cerebro que reduce el gasto cardíaco y la resistencia vascular periférica resultante en la estabilización de la presión arterial.
Instrucciones
Es necesario consultar a un médico con respecto a la ingesta de dosis adecuada. Siga cuidadosamente todas las direcciones. Evitar sobrepasar la dosis o tomar el medicamento por más tiempo de lo que se aconseja. Por lo general, se recomienda tomar clonidina dos veces al día, una por la mañana y la tarde. La dosificación depende de la respuesta individual presión arterial de un paciente. Si usted usa los parches, que se aplican en el área de la piel sin pelo (en la parte superior del brazo o torso), una vez a la semana. En caso de cambiar el parche por uno nuevo, usted debe elegir otra área de la piel.
Precauciones

Contraindicaciones
Este medicamento está contraindicado en pacientes que muestran hipersensibilidad a cualquier componente de la formulación. Posibles efectos secundarios
Los efectos secundarios más habituales son el estreñimiento, fiebre, trastornos digestivos (diarrea), visión borrosa, palpitaciones, aumento rápido de peso, confusión mental, alucinaciones. A veces, una reacción alérgica puede ocurrir que implica dificultad para respirar e hinchazón. Esto no es una lista completa de todos los posibles efectos secundarios. Otros pueden ocurrir en algunos pacientes y puede haber algunos efectos secundarios que no se conocen todavía. En cualquier caso, notifique a su médico o al centro local de envenenamiento de inmediato si usted experimenta cualquier efecto secundario que sea molesto para usted.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Este medicamento es capaz de interactuar con un tipo de depresores del sistema nervioso como los barbitúricos que aumentan el efecto de la sedación, sino que también interactúa con un grupo de fármacos inmunosupresores como la ciclosporina, que puede resultar en daño a los riñones.
Dosis omitida
En caso de haber perdido a tomar una dosis de este medicamento, tómelo tan pronto como sea posible. Si ya está supuesta a tomar la siguiente dosis, no tome la dosis que olvidó y mantenga a su horario de dosificación normal. No tome dos dosis de inmediato.
Sobredosis
Si usted sospecha que ha usado demasiado de este medicamento, busque atención médica de emergencia inmediatamente. Debe hacerlo incluso si los síntomas de malestar o intoxicación no se han indicado a la vez. Es posible que necesite atención médica urgente. Por lo general, los síntomas de sobredosis incluyen dolor en el pecho, visión borrosa, ansiedad, confusión, exceso de presión arterial baja, síncope, palpitaciones.
