Hyzaar appartiene ad un farmaco che contiene una combinazione di idroclorotiazide e losartan. L'idroclorotiazide è un diuretico tiazidico che viene usato allo scopo di evitare che il corpo assorbi troppo sale portando alla ritenzione di liquidi. Losartan (Cozaar) è un antagonista dell'angiotensina II. Losartan evita il restringimento dei vasi sanguigni, il che abbassa la pressione sanguigna e migliora la circolazione sanguigna. Hyzaar è utile nel trattamento dell'ipertensione ed aiuta anche a prevenire gli incidenti cerebrovascolari.
Indicazioni
Assumere Hyzaar esattamente come prescritto dal medico. È possibile modificare la posologia solo con il permesso del medico. Evitare di assumere il farmaco più a lungo di quanto prescritto.
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento informare il proprio medico se si è incinta o se si pensa di essere incinta in quanto l'assunzione di questo farmaco potrebbe causare gravi danni al nascituro. Evitare il surriscaldamento o la disidratazione durante l'attività fisica nella stagione calda. Seguire le istruzioni del medico circa il tipo e la quantità di liquidi che si devono bere.
Controindicazioni
Evitare l'assunzione del farmaco se si è in gravidanza,in periodo d'allattamento,se si soffre di ipersensibilità ai farmaci sulfonamide derivati o se si verifica una interruzione della produzione di urina.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si hanno:allergia che copre orticaria, gonfiore del viso,respiro affannoso, dolori muscolari, nausea o vomito, debolezza, stato patologico, febbre alta, cambiamento drastico nel colore dell'urina.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Evitare di usare Hyzaar in concomitanza con : alcol, sedativi, ipnotici, tranquillanti, antipsicotici, oppioidi o rilassanti muscolari in quanto l'interazione può causare gravi effetti collaterali(modificazioni della pressione sanguigna) o addirittura causare iperkaliemia.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. I sintomi da sovradosaggio sono:tasso anormalmente basso / rapido del battito cardiaco, vertigini o ipertensione.
Conservazione
Conservare questo farmaco in un contenitore asciutto e buio a temperatura ambiente tra i 15-30 C (59-86 F).
