Este producto contiene 2 medicamentos, metoprolol (bloqueador beta) e hidroclorotiazida (diurético). Este medicamento también puede ser utilizado para tratar la insuficiencia cardiaca.
Instrucciones
Tome Lopressor exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. Tómelo a la misma hora cada día. Metoprolol debe tomarse con comida o justo después de una comida. Tome esta medicina con un vaso lleno de agua. No deje de tomar este medicamento sin consultar a su médico. Si usted está siendo tratado por presión arterial elevada, siga usando esta medicina aunque se sienta bien. Para prevenir el dolor de pecho, un segundo ataque al corazón o dolor de cabeza de migraña, es muy importante tomar este medicamento regularmente según lo prescrito.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Lopressor, dígale a su médico o farmacéutico si usted es alérgico a éste o al otro beta-bloqueantes, si usted tiene enfermedad hepática o renal, diabetes, asma, bronquitis, enfisema, feocromocitoma, enfermedad de la tiroides. Este medicamento puede causar mareos o somnolencia. No conduzca o realizar cualquier actividad que requiera estar alerta. Limite las bebidas alcohólicas.
Contraindicaciones
Usted no debe usar Lopressor si usted es alérgico al metoprolol, o si tiene un bloqueo cardíaco, síndrome del seno enfermo, o ritmo cardíaco lento. Dígale a su médico si está embarazada o amamantando.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Obtenga ayuda médica de emergencia si usted tiene: desmayos, náuseas, fiebre baja, perdida del apetito, orina oscura, urticaria, hinchazón de la cara, los labios, dificultad para respirar, latidos cardíacos irregulares. Efectos secundarios de menor gravedad pueden incluir: nerviosismo, vómitos, impotencia, problemas para dormir, diarrea. Fumar puede empeorar este efecto. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, póngase en contacto con su médico inmediatamente.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: medicamentos para el asma (salbutamol, teofilina, metaproterenol), digoxina, ritonavir, inhibidores de la MAO (isocarboxazida, tranilcipromina, furazolidona), medicamentos para el corazón (diltiazem, reserpina, nifedipina), los diuréticos, la terbinafina , medicamentos para la diabetes (metformina, glipizida, insulina). Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato. Los síntomas de sobredosis son desmayos, latidos cardíacos irregulares, debilidad, dificultad para respirar, mareos.
Almacenamiento
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 59-86 grados F (15-30 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. Guárdelo en un recipiente hermético.
