Lopressor (Metoprolol)
Informations générales
Lopressor est dans un groupe de médicaments appelés bêtabloquants. Les bêtabloquants affectent le cœur et la circulation (circulation du sang dans les artères et les veines). Ce médicament est utilisé pour traiter la haute pression sanguine (l’hypertension). L’abaissement de la pression artérielle permet d’empêcher les AVC, les crises cardiaques et des problèmes rénaux. Ce produit contient deux médicaments, le métoprolol (un bêta-bloquant) et l'hydrochlorothiazide (diurétique). Ce médicament peut également être utilisé pour traiter l'insuffisance cardiaque.
Posologie
Prenez Lopressor conformément aux prescriptions de votre médecin. Prenez-le à la même heure chaque jour. Métoprolol doit être pris avec la nourriture ou juste après le repas. Prenez ce médicament avec un verre plein d'eau. Ne cessez pas de prendre ce médicament brusquement sans consulter au préalable votre médecin. Si vous êtes traité contre l'hypertension artérielle, continuez à utiliser ce médicament même si vous vous sentez bien. Pour éviter des douleurs thoraciques, une deuxième crise cardiaque ou des migraines, il est très important de prendre ce médicament régulièrement selon la prescription.
Précautions
Avant de prendre Lopressor, parlez à votre médecin ou votre pharmacien si vous êtes allergique au médicament ou aux autres bêta-bloquants, si vous avez une maladie hépatique ou rénale, le diabète, l'asthme, la bronchite, l'emphysème, le phéochromocytome, le trouble de la thyroïde. Ce médicament peut vous rendre somnolent ou étourdi. Ne conduisez pas un véhicule ou ne menez pas d’activité qui exige de la vigilance. Limitez la consommation des boissons alcoolisées.
Contre-indications
Vous ne devriez pas utiliser Lopressor si vous êtes allergique au métoprolol, ou si vous avez un bloc cardiaque, une maladie du sinus, ou le rhytme cardiaque lent. Avertissez votre médecin si vous êtes enceinte ou allaitez.
Effets secondaires possibles
Obtenez de l'aide médicale d'urgence si vous avez: des évanouissements, des nausées, une fièvre, une perte d'appétit, l’urine foncée, l’urticaire, un gonflement du visage, des lèvres, une difficulté à respirer, des battements de coeur irréguliers. Les effets secondaires moins graves peuvent inclure: la nervosité, des vomissements, l’impuissance, des troubles de sommeil, une diarrhée. Le tabagisme peut aggraver ces effets. Si vous remarquez d'autres effets non énumérés ci-dessus, consultez immédiatement votre médecin.
Interaction des médicaments
Informez votre médecin de tous les médicaments que vous utilisez, notamment: des médicaments contre l'asthme (salbutamol, théophylline, métaprotérénol), la digoxine, le ritonavir, les inhibiteurs de la MAO (isocarboxazid, tranylcypromine, furazolidone), des médicaments contre les troubles cardiaques (diltiazem, réserpine, nifédipine), les diurétiques, la terbinafine, les médicaments contre le diabète (metformine, glipizide, insuline). Informez votre médecin de tous les médicaments sur ordonnance et en vente libre, des vitamines, des produits à base de plantes que vous utilisez.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Overdose
Si vous pensez que vous avez une surdose du médicament, cherchez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes de surdose sont des évanouissements, des battements de coeur irréguliers, une faiblesse, un essoufflement, des étourdissements.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 59-86 degrés F (15-30 degrés C) à l’abri de la lumière et de l'humidité. Conservez-le dans un emballage étanche.
