Información general
Plendil se conoce como un bloqueador de los canales de calcio. Al bloquear el calcio, este medicamento relaja y ensancha los vasos sanguíneos para que la sangre pueda fluir más fácilmente. Se utiliza para tratar la presión arterial alta (hipertensión). Reducir la presión arterial alta ayuda a prevenir derrames cerebrales, ataques cardíacos y problemas renales. Este medicamento también puede ser usado para prevenir el dolor de pecho (angina).
Instrucciones
Tome Plendil exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. Los rangos de dosis recomendada para adultos a partir de 2,5 mg a 10 mg una vez al día, tomada con o sin alimentos. Los comprimidos no deben tomarse con una comida rica en hidratos de carbono o grasas. La dosis inicial recomendada para tratar la presión arterial alta (hipertensión) es de 5 mg una vez al día. Su médico puede aumentar la dosis hasta 10 mg al día (si su presión arterial en los que no están bajo control) o disminuir su dosis a 2,5 mg al día. Personas mayores o personas con problemas hepáticos deben comenzar con una dosis más baja.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Plendil usted debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene fallo cardiaco congestivo, enfermedad del hígado, cirrosis, insuficiencia hepática, inflamación de los brazos y las piernas (edema), algún tipo de alergia. Este medicamento puede causar mareos. No conduzca o realice tareas que requieren vigilancia. Limite el consumo de las bebidas alcohólicas. El alcohol puede bajar aún más la presión arterial e incrementar la somnolencia o mareos. El zumo de pomelo puede aumentar los niveles de felodipino. Evite el consumo de jugo de toronja o comer pomelo. Personas mayores pueden ser más sensibles a los efectos adversos.
Contraindicaciones
Usted no debe tomar Plendil si usted es alérgico a felodipino o cualquiera de los componentes del medicamento, está embarazada o amamantando, tiene la presión arterial muy baja.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Atención médica de emergencia si usted tiene mareos, aturdimiento, enrojecimiento facial, o malestar estomacal, hinchazón de las manos, tobillos, pies (edema), latidos cardíacos rápidos o irregulares, desmayos, erupción cutánea, picor, hinchazón de la cara, lengua, garganta , dificultad para respirar, ictericia (coloración amarillenta de la piel o los ojos), cansancio, insomnio, náuseas, diarrea, contracciones musculares o molestias en las articulaciones, aumento de la micción o difícil. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, consulte a su médico.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: beta-bloqueadores (betaxolol, propranolol, metoprolol), los antibióticos o antifúngicos (ketoconazol, claritromicina, telitromicina, eritromicina, claritromicina), medicamentos anticonvulsivos (oxcarbazepina, topiramato, fenitoína, carbamazepina), inhibidores de la proteasa ( cimetidina atazanavir, indinavir, ritonavir, amprenavir), imatinib, nefazodona, delavirdina. La interacción entre los dos medicamentos no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico acerca de todos los medicamentos, de venta libre-, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que está tomando.
Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato. Los síntomas de sobredosis son: mareos, debilidad, dolor en el pecho, dificultad para respirar, desmayos, latido del corazón rápido o lento, coma, dificultad para hablar y confusión.
Almacenamiento
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 59-86 grados F (15-30 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. No guarde los medicamentos en el cuarto de baño. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
