FELODIPINA é um bloqueador do canal de cálcio. Ele afecta a quantidade de cálcio encontrado no coração e células musculares. Isso relaxa os vasos sanguíneos, o que pode reduzir o trabalho que o coração tem de fazer. Este medicamento é utilizado para reduzir a pressão arterial elevada.
O que devo dizer ao meu médico antes de tomar este medicamento?
Ele precisa de saber se tem alguma destas condições:
- problemas cardíacos, tensão arterial baixa, batimento cardíaco lento ou irregular
- doença hepática
- anterior ataque cardíaco
- reacção alérgica à felodipina, outros medicamentos, alimentos, corantes ou conservantes
- se está grávida ou a tentar engravidar
- se está a amamentar
Como devo tomar este medicamento?
Tome este medicamento por via oral com um copo de água. Não esmagar nem mastigar. Tome este medicamento ou com o estômago vazio ou com uma refeição ligeira. Tome a sua dose em intervalos regulares. Não tome o medicamento mais do que indicado. Não pare de tomar este medicamento subitamente. Pergunte ao seu médico como pode reduzir gradualmente a dose.
Fale com o seu pediatra quanto à utilização deste medicamento em crianças. Cuidados especiais podem ser necessários.
Sobredosagem: Se pensa que poderá ter tomado uma dose superior ao prescrito contacte o Centro de Informação Antivenenos ou os Serviços de Urgência de imediato.
NOTA: Este medicamento é apenas para si. Não o partilhe com outros.
Que fazer se falhei uma toma?
Se falhar uma dose, tome-a o mais cedo possível. Se estiver quase na hora de tomar a próxima dose, tome apenas essa. Não tome doses duplas ou extras.
O que pode interferir com este medicamento?
Não tome este medicamento com nenhum dos seguintes:
- sumo de toranja
Este medicamento pode também interagir com os seguintes:
- cimetidina
- medicamentos para infecções fúngicas como fluconazol, itraconazol, cetoconazol, voriconazol
- medicamentos para tensão arterial elevada
- medicamentos para as convulsões como carbamazepina, fenobarbital e fenitoína
- certos antibióticos como claritromicina e eritromicina
- alguns medicamentos para problemas do ritmo cardíaco
- tacrolimus

Não se levante ou sente rapidamente, especialmente se é um paciente mais velho. Este comportamento reduz o risco de ter tonturas ou desmaios. Álcool pode torná-lo mais sonolento ou com tonturas. Evite bebidas alcoólicas.
Este medicamento pode causar problemas dentários em alguns doentes. Limpe os dentes e use fio dental cuidadosamente e regularmente. Verifique com o seu dentista se as gengivas ficarem inchadas ou inflamadas e ter de ser o dentista a limpar os seus dentes regularmente.
Que efeitos secundários posso notar com a toma deste medicamento?
Efeitos secundários que deve reportar ao seu médico de imediato:
- desmaios, frivolidade
- batimentos cardíacos irregulares, dor no peito, palpitações
- inchaço das pernas e tornozelos
Efeitos secundários que normalmente não requerem atenção médica (diga ao seu médico ou profissional de saúde se persistem, ou se são incómodos):
- obstipação
- diminuiu do desempenho sexual ou desejo
- rubor facial
- cefaleia
- náuseas
- fraqueza ou cansaço

Onde devo guardar o meu medicamento?
Mantenha-o fora do alcance das crianças.
