Toprol (Metoprolol)
Informazioni generali
Toprol appartiene ad una classe di farmaci chiamati beta-bloccanti. I beta-bloccanti influiscono sul cuore e sulla circolazione. Il farmaco viene utilizzato per trattare l'angina (dolore al petto) correlata alla malattia coronarica e all'ipertensione (pressione alta). Toprol viene anche usato per trattare o prevenire infarto, emicrania e alcuni tipi di tremori.
Indicazioni
Prendere il farmacco esattamente come prescritto dal medico. Il farmaco è da assumere a stomaco pieno ogni giorno all'incirca alla stessa ora. Non si deve interrompere l'assunzione Toprol senza prima averne parlato con il medico. La massima dose giornaliera di Toprol è di 400 mg. Il medico può aumentare o diminuire la dose, se necessario.
Precauzioni
Informare il proprio medico circa tutti i farmaci i uso, compresi i farmaci da prescrizione e da banco, antiacidi, vitamine e gli integratori a base di erbe. Se dovete subire un intervento chirurgico a breve, far sapere prontamente al chirurgo che si sta assumendo Toprol. Bere alcol può aumentare gli effetti collaterali di Toprol.
Controindicazioni
Se siete allergici al farmaco,se si soffre di diabete,malattie cardiache o renali non assumere Toprol. Prima di iniziare il trattamento riferire al proprio medico se si è incinta,in periodo d'allattamento o se si sta pianificando una gravidanza.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Gli effetti indesiderati più comuni comprendono: stanchezza, diarrea, battito del cuore rallentato. Altri effetti collaterali comuni sono: mancanza di respiro, secchezza delle fauci, orticaria, prurito, nausea, dolore al petto, sensazione di testa vuota. Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si dispone di uno di questi effetti collaterali.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Toprol può interagire con: alfa bloccanti (alfuzosina, doxazosina, fentolamina, ecc), calcio-antagonisti (Verapamil, nifedipina, felodipina, ecc) che possono provocare una pressione sanguigna pericolosamente bassa, gli antidepressivi (citalopram, fluoxetina, tranilcipromina, ecc ), con i farmaci per l'aritmia (lidocaina, disopiramide, chinidina), farmaci anti-infiammatori non steroidei (FANS): ibuprofene, Meloxicam, Diclofenac. I FANS possono diminuire la pressione sangugina e una riduzione dell'effetto di Toprol.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza o bere un bicchiere di latte. I sintomi da sovradosaggio possono includere: nausea, vomito, ipotensione, ipoglicemia, anomalie del ritmo cardiaco.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 59-86 gradi F (15-30 gradi C) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità. Conservare Toprol in un contenitore stretto.
