Leukeran (Chlorambucil)
Informazioni generali
Leukeran appartiene al gruppo di farmaci noti come farmaci antineoplastici. Leukeran contiene clorambucile. Questo farmaco agisce impedendo la crescita di cellule tumorali interferendo con il materiale genetico, che è necessario per la riproduzione delle cellule. Leukeran viene usato per trattare alcuni tipi di cancro (leucemia, linfoma, malattia di Hodgkin). Questo farmaco può essere utilizzato anche per alcune malattie del sangue, alcuni tipi di malattie renali nei bambini che non hanno risposto in maniera soddisfacente ad altri trattamenti.
Indicazioni
Assumere Leukeran esattamente come prescritto dal medico. Prendere questo farmaco per via orale. Bere molti liquidi durante l'assunzione di questo farmaco per prevenire gli effetti collaterali. Per la leucemia linfatica cronica, la dose iniziale abituale è di 0,15 mg per chilogrammo di peso corporeo al giorno fino a che numero di globuli bianchi raggiunga il valore desiderato. 4 settimane dopo il primo ciclo di trattamento,può essere ripresa l'assunzione del farmaco alla dose di 0,1 mg per chilogrammo di peso corporeo al giorno. Per il trattamento della malattia di Hodgkin, la dose consigliata è di 0,2 mg per chilogrammo di peso corporeo al giorno per un periodo di 4-8 settimane. Per trattare il linfoma non-Hodgkin, la dose abituale è di 0,1-0,2 mg per chilogrammo di peso corporeo al giorno inizialmente per 4-8 settimane.
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento informare il proprio medico se si hanno:convulsioni, trauma cranico, gotta, calcoli renali, malattie del sangue (anemia, neutropenia, trombocitopenia). Evitare il contatto con persone che hanno infezioni contagiose. Non effettuare vaccinazioni senza il consenso del medico.
Controindicazioni
Non prendere Leukeran se si è allergici a clorambucil o ad uno qualsiasi degli eccipienti di questo farmaco, se vi trovate in gravidanza o in periodo d'allattamento e si ha effettuato un ciclo completo di radioterapia o chemioterapia nei precedenti 4 settimane.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si hanno:cambiamenti nel ciclo mestruale, diarrea, nausea, vomito, contrazioni muscolari, convulsioni, eruzioni cutanee, tremori, sanguinamento inaspettato, difficoltà nell'urinare, stanchezza, occhi gialli o pelle gialla, feci nere o con sangue, orticaria, difficoltà respirazione, gonfiore della gola, della bocca, dolori articolari, pelle pallida, mal di stomaco, perdita di appetito, urine scure, mal di gola, debolezza, vertigini grave. Se si notano altri effetti non elencati sopra, contattare il medico.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso, in particolare riguardo a: vaccini vivi (parotite, morbillo, febbre gialla), Natalizumab, fenilbutazone, pimecrolimus, roflumilast. Si noti inoltre che l'interazione fra due farmaci non necessariamente deve portare ad una sospensione dell'utilizzo di uno dei due farmaci. Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso compresi i farmaci da prescrizione,quelli da banco e i prodotti erboristici.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. I sintomi da sovradosaggio sono:perdita di equilibrio, eccitazione, convulsioni.
Conservazione
Conservare il medicinale a temperatura ambiente tra i 59-77 gradi F (15-25 ° C) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità. Conservare il farmaco lontano dalla portata dei bambini e degli animali domestici.
