Instrucciones
Tome Purinethol exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. Tome este medicamento por vía oral con o sin comida con un vaso lleno de agua, por lo general una vez al día. Beba líquidos en abundancia mientras esté tomando este medicamento para disminuir el riesgo de efectos secundarios. Una dosis típica de partida para los adultos es entre 100 mg y 200 mg diarios, mientras que un promedio menor de 5 años por lo general podría comenzar con una dosis de 50 mg diarios.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Purinethol usted debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene trastornos de la sangre, anemia, bajo recuento de células de la sangre, gota, enfermedad renal, cálculos renales, enfermedad hepática, pancreatitis, tratamiento con radiación, el cáncer, el linfoma. ¿No tiene inmunizaciones o vacunas. Evite estar cerca a personas que tienen resfriados, la gripe, u otras enfermedades contagiosas. Limite las bebidas alcohólicas. Contraindicaciones
No tome Purinethol si usted es alérgico a la mercaptopurina o cualquier otro componente de este medicamento, si está embarazada o dando de lactar.
Posibles efectos secundarios
Busque atención médica de emergencia si usted ha oscurecimiento de la piel, diarrea, dolor de cabeza, náuseas, vómitos, erupción cutánea, picazón, debilidad, dolor en las articulaciones, hinchazón de los pies, cansancio inusual, debilidad, ojos o piel amarilla, heces fecales negras o con sangre, tos, ronquera, fiebre, escalofríos, dolor de espalda, micción dolorosa o difícil, sangrado inusual, moretones garganta, dolor de garganta, dolores en el cuerpo, pérdida del apetito, orina oscura, pérdida del cabello, dolor de estómago, hinchazón de la cara, labios, lengua, urticaria, dificultad para respirar. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, póngase en contacto con su médico.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: alopurinol, tioguanina, olsalazina, azatioprina, anticoagulantes (warfarina), trimetoprim, ciclosporina, sulfasalazina, aspirina, eritromicina, amiodarona. La interacción entre dos medicaciones no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico sobre todos los medicamentos, sin receta médica, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que esté tomando.
Dosis omitida
Tome la dosis que olvidó tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que ha tomado mucho de la medicina busque ayuda médica de emergencia a la vez. Los síntomas de sobredosis son el color amarillento de los ojos o la piel, náuseas, diarrea, vómito, orina oscura, dolor abdominal severo.
Almacenaje
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 68-77 grados F (20-25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. No guarde los medicamentos en el cuarto de baño. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
