Cardizem (Diltiazem)
Informazioni generali
Cardizem appartiene ad una famiglia di farmaci noti come calcio-antagonisti. Il farmaco viene somministrato per trattare l'ipertensione (pressione alta),l'angina (dolore al petto), e alcuni disturbi del ritmo cardiaco. Il farmaco agisce rilassando i vasi sanguigni e riducendo il carico di lavoro del cuore. Cardizem può anche essere usato per controllare la frequenza cardiaca se si dispone di un battito cardiaco veloce o irregolare (come la fibrillazione atriale).
Indicazioni
Assumere Cardizem esattamente come prescritto dal medico. La dose raccomandata può variare da 30 mg a 360 mg al giorno da assumere 3 o 4 volte al giorno. La dose iniziale raccomandata per il trattamento del dolore toracico (angina) è di 30 mg quattro volte al giorno (prima dei pasti e prima di coricarsi). Se necessario, il medico può aumentare la dose per controllare meglio il dolore toracico. Il dosaggio può essere ridotto se si verificano effetti collaterali fastidiosi.
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento con Cardizem informare il proprio medico se si hanno:malattie cardiache , insufficienza cardiaca congestizia, ritmo cardiaco irregolare che rallenta la frequenza cardiaca (aritmia), sindrome del seno malato, malattie epatiche o renali, cirrosi, bassa pressione sanguigna, eventuali allergie. Il farmaco può aumentare gli enzimi del fegato il che può essere un chiaro segno di danno epatico. Questo farmaco può provocare vertigini. Non guidare o svolgere attività che richiedono attenzione. Evitare l'assunzione di alcol. Pompelmo e succo di pompelmo possono interagire con diltiazem e portare a effetti potenzialmente pericolosi.
Controindicazioni
Non assumere Cardizem se si è allergici a Diltiazem o ad uno qualsiasi degli ingredienti del farmaco, se si è in gravidanza o in periodo d'allattamento, o se si hanno problemi del ritmo cardiaco, pressione sanguigna bassa,insufficienza ventricolare sinistra o fluido nei polmoni.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si hanno:diarrea, bruciori di stomaco, stitichezza, difficoltà respiratorie, vampate di calore, vertigini, stordimento, nausea, cefalea, nervosismo, stanchezza, dolore addominale, debolezza, tosse, dispnea, svenimenti, battito cardiaco irregolare o veloce, eruzioni cutanee, gonfiore di caviglie, piedi, vomito. Se si notano altri effetti non elencati sopra, contattare il medico.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso, in particolare riguardo a:benzodiazepine (clobazam, quazepam, diazepam, flurazepam), cimetidina, beta-bloccanti (labetalolo, bisoprololo, propranololo), la clonidina, statine (atorvastatina, simvastatina, lovastatina), chinidina, digossina, rifampicina, ciclosporina. Si noti inoltre che l'interazione fra due farmaci non necessariamente deve portare ad una sospensione dell'utilizzo di uno dei due farmaci. Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso compresi i farmaci da prescrizione,quelli da banco e i prodotti erboristici.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. I sintomi da sovradosaggio sono:capogiri, vertigini, svenimenti, difficoltà respiratorie, ritenzione di liquidi, pressione bassa (ipotensione), insufficienza cardiaca, battito cardiaco lento (bradicardia).
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 68-77 gradi F (20-25 ° C) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità. Non conservare in bagno. Conservare il farmaco lontano dalla portata dei bambini e degli animali domestici.
