Glucophage (Metformin)
Notes générales
Glucophage est prescrit pour le traitement du diabète de type 2. Le médicament a pour ingrédient principal la metformine qui appartient à une classe de substances biguanide. La metformine agit réduisant la concentration de glucose dans le sang. Il supprime le métabolisme du glucose dans le foie, réduisant ainsi l'absorption de glucose par le tractus gastro-intestinal, et améliore son utilisation dans les tissus. En conséquence, il réduit le poids corporel. Le médicament est recommandé pour l'utilisation des patients dont le traitement par sulfonylurée était inefficace.
Posologie
Il est recommandé de prendre le médicament selon l’ordonnance de votre médecin. Prenez-le avec repas. La dose recommandée est de 500 mg ou de 850 mg une fois par jour pour traiter le diabète de type 2 chez les adultes. Selon les niveaux de glucose dans le sang, la dose de Glucophage peut être augmentée jusqu'à la dose maximale de 2550 mg par jour en 3 prises distinctes.
Précautions
Soyez prudent en utilisant ce médicament car il peut provoquer les réactions suivantes: faiblesse, somnolence croissante, pouls lent, sensation de froid, douleurs musculaires, douleurs abdominales, essoufflement, vertiges et les évanouissements. Ne buvez pas de boissons alcoolisées. Aussi soyez prudent avec les symptômes de l'hypoglycémie, qui comprennent faim, trouble, irritabilité, somnolence, mal de tête, faiblesse, pouls rapide, tremblements, transpiration, crise et ayez toujourz une source de sucre à portée de main.
Contre-indications
Les patients avec les maladies suivantes ne peuvent pas utiliser le médicament: hypersensibilité, coma hyperglycémique, acidocétose, insuffisance rénale, une maladie du foie, insuffisance cardiaque, infarctus aigu du myocarde, insuffisance respiratoire, déshydratation, maladies infectieuses, chirurgie extensive et les traumatismes, l'alcoolisme, régime alimentaire faible en calories, l'acidose lactique (y compris l'histoire), la grossesse, l'allaitement maternel. Personnes d'âge moyen de plus de 60 ans ne devraient pas utiliser le médicament.
Effets secondaires possibles
Les effets secondaires peuvent être les suivants: gonflement ou prise de poids rapide, nausées, vomissements, gaz, ballonnement, diarrhée et perte d'appétit. En cas d'acidose lactique obtenez de l'aide médicale d'urgence: faiblesse, somnolence croissante, pouls lent, sensation de froid, essoufflement, douleurs abdominales, douleurs musculaires, vertiges, évanouissements, urticaire, enflure, éruptions cutanées.
Intéraction des médicaments
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. S'il est presque temps de la prochaine prise il suffit de la sauter et de revenir à votre horaire habituel.
Surdosage
Si vous soupçonnez une surdose veuillez obtenir immédiatement des soins médicaux d'urgence. Les symptômes de surdosage sont ceux de l'hypoglycémie: faim, trouble, irritabilité, somnolence, mal de tête, faiblesse, tremblements, transpiration, pouls rapide, crise.
