- doença hepática
- doença no estômago ou intestino, ou obstrução
- reacções invulgares ou alérgicas à acarbose ou outros medicamentos, alimentos, corantes ou conservantes
- se está grávida ou a tentar engravidar
- se está a amamentar
Como devo tomar este medicamento?
Tome este medicamento por via oral com um copo de água. Engula os comprimidos no início de uma refeição principal. Tome a sua dose em intervalos regulares. Não tome o medicamento mais do que indicado. Não pare de tomar este medicamento, excepto se aconselhado pelo seu médico.
Se tiver vómitos graves ou diarreia severa que o impeça de fazer refeições, contacte o seu médico.
Fale com o seu pediatra quanto à utilização deste medicamento em crianças. Cuidados especiais podem ser necessários.
Sobredosagem: Se pensa que poderá ter tomado uma dose superior ao prescrito contacte o Centro de Informação Antivenenos ou os Serviços de Urgência de imediato.

Que fazer se falhei uma toma?
Se falhar a dose no início da refeição e ainda está a fazer essa refeição, tome a dose enquanto está a fazer essa refeição. Caso contrário, salte a dose. Este medicamento não é eficaz se a dose não for tomada durante uma refeição. Espere pela próxima refeição para tomar a dose seguint, e tome apenas essa dose. Não tome doses duplas ou extras.
O que pode interferir com este medicamento?
- carvão vegetal
- enzimas digestivas como a amilase e a pancreatina
- digoxina
- diuréticos
- hormonas femininas, tais como estrogénios ou progesterona, e pílula
- isoniazida
- medicamentos para as constipações ou dificuldades respiratórias, como pseudoefedrina ou fenilefrina
- medicamentos para a pressão arterial elevada designados por beta-bloqueadores e bloqueadores do canal de cálcio
- ácido nicotínico
- fenotiazinas como clorpromazina, mesoridazine, prochlorperazine, tioridazina
- fenitoína
- medicamentos esteróides como prednisona e cortisona
- hormonas tiroideias
Informe o seu médico sobre todos os outros medicamentos que está a tomar, incluindo medicamentos não sujeitos a receita, suplementos nutricionais, ou produtos à base de plantas. É importante seguir uma dieta diabética enquanto tomar este medicamento. Isto pode ajudar a diminuir alguns dos efeitos secundários como diarreia, inchaço e gás. Se seguir a dieta e a diarreia severa ou gás persistirem contacte o seu médico.
Use uma pulseira médica de identificação a dizer que tem diabetes e tenha uma lista com todos os seus medicamentos.

Efeitos secundários que normalmente não requerem atenção médica (diga ao seu médico ou profissional de saúde se persistem, ou se são incómodos):
- sentimento de inchaço
- diarreia
- gás no estômago, ressoamento
- dor de estômago ou perturbação

Onde devo guardar o meu medicamento?
Mantenha-o fora do alcance das crianças.
