Este medicamento también puede ser utilizado para tratar y prevenir las úlceras en el estómago, y para prevenir las úlceras provocadas por el uso de aspirina u otros medicamentos anti-inflamatorios.
Instrucciones
Tome Carafate exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. Tome sucralfate con el estómago vacío con un vaso lleno de agua, generalmente de 2 a 4 veces al día, por lo menos 1 hora antes o 2 horas después de comer. Úselo a la misma hora todos los días. La dosis se basa en su condición médica.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar sucralfato, dígale a su médico si usted tiene diabetes, problemas intestinales, enfermedades del riñón, o si usted está en diálisis. Evite tomar cualquier otro medicamento 2 horas antes o después de tomar Carafate. Sucralfato puede hacer más difícil para su cuerpo para absorber otras medicinas que usted toma. Evite el uso de antiácidos. Algunos antiácidos pueden hacer más difícil para que sucralfate funcione en su estómago.
Contraindicaciones
Antes de tomar Carafate, dígale a su médico si usted tiene enfermedad del riñón, o si usted es alérgico al sucralfato, embarazada o amamantando.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Obtenga ayuda médica de emergencia si usted tiene dolor de espalda, hinchazón de la cara, de los labios, dolor de estómago, urticaria, mareos, dificultad para respirar, náuseas, comezón, vómitos, somnolencia, problemas para dormir, dolor de estómago, erupciones en la piel, boca seca, gases. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, consulte a su médico.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Antes de tomar Carafate a su médico si usted está usando: fenitoína, digoxina, ranitidina, teofilina, anticoagulantes (warfarina), cimetidina, antibióticos (la levofloxacina, ketoconazol, ciprofloxacino), quinidina, la levotiroxina, la tetraciclina. La interacción entre los dos medicamentos no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico sobre todos los medicamentos, de venta libre-, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que está tomando.
Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato.
Almacenamiento
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 68-77 grados F (20-25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad en un recipiente hermético. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
