Información general
Imodium pertenece a la familia de medicamentos llamados antidiarreicos. Se utiliza para el tratamiento de episodios cortos de diarrea que no son causados por una infección bacteriana. También se utiliza para tratar la diarrea crónica causada por la enfermedad inflamatoria intestinal (por ejemplo, enfermedad de Crohn) y para reducir la cantidad de heces producidas por las personas que tienen ileostomías, colostomías, o han tenido parte de los intestinos eliminado. Funciona al disminuir el movimiento del intestino. Esto disminuye el número de movimientos intestinales y hace que las heces sean menos acuosas.
Instrucciones
Es importante usar esta medicina exactamente como se lo indique su médico. Para adultos y niños de 12 años de edad y mayores que tienen diarrea aguda o crónica, la dosis recomendada es de 4 mg, seguida de una dosis de 2 mg después de cada evacuación suelta (o ataque de diarrea). No exceder los 16 mg por día. Para los niños de 6 a 12 años de edad la dosis recomendada es de 2 mg 3 veces al día. Deje de usar si usted tiene un banco sólido o duro o si usted va para 24 horas sin defecar.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Imodium, dígale a su médico si usted es alérgico a la loperamida o si tiene alguna otra alergia, dolor estomacal / abdominal sin diarrea, obstrucción intestinal. La loperamida no debe utilizarse durante más de 2 días. Consulte con su médico si su diarrea no para después de dos días o si tiene fiebre. Las personas de edad con diarrea debe recibir una cantidad suficiente de líquidos para reemplazar los líquidos perdidos por el cuerpo.
Contraindicaciones
Este medicamento no debe usarse en niños menores de 6 años de edad, si usted es alérgico a la loperamida oa cualquiera de los de la medicación. Dígale a su médico si está embarazada o amamantando.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Comuníquese con su médico tan pronto como sea posible si tiene alguno de los siguientes efectos secundarios: hinchazón, erupción cutánea, dolor de estómago, pérdida del apetito, mareos, sequedad de boca, náuseas o vómitos gas, cansancio, dificultad para respirar erupción problemas.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Si usted está tomando cualquiera de estos medicamentos, hable con su médico o farmacéutico: barbitúricos, fenotiazinas, ritonavir, las benzodiazepinas, quinidina, antidepresivos tricíclicos. Una interacción entre dos medicamentos no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato. Los síntomas de sobredosis son dificultad para orinar, respiración lenta, sueño profundo.
Almacenamiento
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 59-77 grados F (15-25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
