Informations générales
Nexium est une forme de Prilosec. Il appartient à la classe des inhibiteurs spécifiques de la pompe à protons (ISPP) des cellules pariétales de la couche de la muqueuse de l'estomac. Nexium est prescrit pour le traitement du reflux gastro-œsophagien (RGO), sert à favoriser la guérison de l'oesophagite érosive, du syndrome de Zollinger-Ellison, l'éradication de l'Helicobacter pylori conjointement avec des antibiotiques, un traitement préventif des ulcères après un traitement avec des médicaments anti-inflammatoires non stéroïdiens.
Posologie
Il est recommandé de prendre le médicament suivant la prescription de votre médecin. Prenez le médicament avant le repas. N’excédez pas la dose recommandée.
Précautions
Avant de commencer votre traitement au Nexium, veuillez informer votre médecin de tous vos états de santé: maladies du foie ou des reins.
Contre-indications
Les enfants de moins de 12 ans et les patients présentant une hypersensibilité au Nexium ou à tout autre médicament de benzimidazole tel que le mébendazole (Vermox) et l'albendazole (Albenza), et les patients suivant un traitement à l'atazanavir ne devraient pas prendre de ce médicament.
Effets secondaires possibles
Les effets secondaires courants sont les suivants: urticaire, gonflement de la gorge et du visage, éruptions cutanées, maux de tête, diarrhée, flatulences (gaz), nausées, douleurs abdominales, constipation, siccité de la bouche.
Interaction des médicaments
Nexium peut avoir une interaction avec le diazépam, le kétoconazole (Nizoral), la clarithromycine, le citalopram, la clomipramine, la phénytoïne, l'imipramine.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose omise dès que possible. S'il est presque l’heure de la prochaine dose est proche, il suffit de sauter la dose omise et de revenir à votre horaire habituel.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez avoir pris une surdose du médicament, demandez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes de surdosage sont l’obnubilation, les maux de tête, la somnolence, une vision floue, un pouls rapide, des nausées, la xérostomie (siccité de la bouche), des sueurs, des bouffées de chaleur, une respiration superficielle ou de l'essoufflement, des tremblements, des troubles de coordination, ou des accès.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 59-77 °F (15-25 °C) à l’abri de la lumière et de l'humidité, hors de portée des enfants et des animaux domestiques.
