Informazioni generali
Pentasa è un farmaco antinfiammatorio aminosalicilato. Pentasa agisce bloccando la produzione di certe sostanze chimiche naturali che possono causare dolore e gonfiore. Pentasa è usato per trattare la colite ulcerosa, proctite, e proctosigmoiditis . Il farmaco viene anche utilizzato per prevenire i sintomi della colite ulcerosa. Pentasa può anche essere usato per trattare la malattia di Crohn.
Indicazioni
Assumere Pentasa esattamente come prescritto dal medico. Prendere questo farmaco per via orale quattro volte al giorno indifferentemente a stomaco pieno o vuoto. Non masticare o frantumare le capsule. Ingoiare la pillola per intera. Il corretto dosaggio è basato sulle proprie condizioni di salute e sulla risposta alla terapia.
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento informare il proprio medico se si hanno:malattie epatiche, insufficienza epatica, cirrosi, malattie renali, insufficienza renale, insufficienza cardiaca congestizia, stenosi pilorica, lento svuotamento dello stomaco, malattia di Crohn, eventuali allergie. Le persone anziane possono essere più sensibili agli effetti collaterali di questo farmaco. Il farmaco può causare sanguinamento dello stomaco. L'uso quotidiano di alcol può aumentare il rischio di sanguinamento dello stomaco.
Controindicazioni
Evitare l'assunzione di Pentasa se si è allergici all'acido 5-aminosalicilico o ad uno qualsiasi degli eccipienti del farmaco,ai salicilati, se avete ulcera gastrica (stomaco) o duodenale (intestinale) o ostruzione del tratto urinario. Lasciate che il medico si occupi di voi se siete incinta o state allattando. I bambini con età inferiore ai 12 anni non dovrebbero assumere il farmaco.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si hanno:diarrea, cefalea, nausea, vomito, gas, febbre, mal di gola, sintomi influenzali, costipazione, vertigini, eruzioni cutanee difficoltà respiratorie, gonfiore del viso, delle labbra dellalingua, orticaria, diarrea con sangue, dolore allo stomaco, dolore toracico, ingiallimento della pelle o degli occhi, battito cardiaco accelerato, urine scure. Se si notano altri effetti non elencati sopra, contattare il medico.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso, in particolare riguardo a:igossina, anti-infiammatori non steroidei (indometacina, naprossene, ibuprofene, diclofenac, ketoprofene), anticoagulanti (warfarin), aspirina, farmaci anti-cancro (ifosfamide, carmustina, streptozocina, tretinoina), farmaci antivirali (foscarnet, adefovir, aciclovir, cidofovir), antibiotici (rifampicina, vancomicina, capreomicina), amfotericina B, pentamidina, tacrolimus, azatioprina. Si noti inoltre che l'interazione fra due farmaci non necessariamente deve portare ad una sospensione dell'utilizzo di uno dei due farmaci. Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso compresi i farmaci da prescrizione,quelli da banco e i prodotti erboristici.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. I sintomi da sovradosaggio sono: ronzio alle orecchie, perdita dell'udito, estrema stanchezza, convulsioni, respirazione veloce o difficile, sanguinosa vomito.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 68-77 gradi F (20-25 ° C) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità. Non conservare in bagno. Conservare il farmaco lontano dalla portata dei bambini e degli animali domestici.
