O que é este medicamento?
Omeprazol evita a produção de ácido no estômago. É utilizado para tratar a doença do refluxo gastroesofágico (DRGE), úlceras, algumas bactérias no estômago, inflamação do esófago, e Síndroma de Zollinger-Ellison. Também é utilizado para tratar outras condições que envolvam a produção de demasiado ácido gástrico.
O que devo dizer ao meu médico antes de tomar este medicamento?
Ele precisa de saber se tem alguma destas condições:
- doença hepática
- reacções invulgares ou alérgicas ao omeprazol, outros medicamentos, alimentos, corantes ou conservantes
- se está grávida ou a tentar engravidar
- se está a amamentar
Como devo tomar este medicamento?
Tome este medicamento por via oral com um copo de água. Não esmague, quebre ou mastigue as cápsulas. Pode abri-las e misturar o conteúdo sobre uma pequena quantidade de puré de maçã ou iogurte, pode tomar com sumos de fruta, ou engolir com água. Este medicamento funciona melhor se for tomado com o estômago vazio, 30 a 60 minutos antes do pequeno-almoço. Tome a sua dose a intervalos regulares. Não tome o medicamento mais frequentemente do que prescrito.
Fale com o seu pediatra quanto à utilização deste medicamento em crianças. Cuidados especiais poderão ser necessários.
Sobredosagem: Se pensa que poderá ter tomado uma dose superior ao prescrito contacte o Centro de Informação Antivenenos ou os Serviços de Urgência de imediato.

Que fazer se falhei uma toma?
Se falhar uma dose, tome-a assim que puder. Se for quase hora da sua próxima dose, tome apenas a dose. Não tome doses duplas ou extra.
O que pode interferir com este medicamento?
Não tome este medicamento com nenhum dos seguintes:
- atazanavir
Este medicamento pode também interagir com os seguintes:
- ampicilina
- diazepam
- digoxina
- sais de ferro
- medicamentos para infecções fúngicas como o cetoconazol e itraconazol
- fenitoína
- tacrolimus
- varfarina
Esta lista pode não descrever todas as interacções possíveis. Onde devo guardar o meu medicamento?
Mantenha-o fora do alcance das crianças.
