O ALBENDAZOL é um anti-helmíntico. Este medicamento destina-se ao tratamento de infecções de parasitas tricurídeos (vermes).
O que devo dizer ao meu médico antes de tomar este medicamento?
Ele precisa saber se tem alguma das seguintes condições:
- anemia
- bloqueio do tracto biliário
- problemas do sistema imunitário
- doenças hepáticas
- uma reacção alérgica ou anormal ao albendazol, outros medicamentos, alimentos, corantes ou conservantes
- se está grávida ou a tentar engravidar
- se está a amamentar
Como devo tomar este medicamento?
Tome estes comprimidos por via oral, com um copo de água. Tome este medicamento acompanhado de alimentos. Pode esmagar ou mastigar este medicamento. Tome o seu medicamento como indicado pelo seu médico. Tome o seu medicamento até ao fim mesmo que se sinta melhor. Não esqueça de tomar as suas doses e não páre de tomar o seu medicamento prematuramente.
Fale com o seu pediatra quanto à utilização deste medicamento em crianças. Apesar deste medicamento poder ser prescrito, em determinadas circunstâncias, a crianças a partir dos 2 anos de idade, é necessário fazê-lo tomando as devidas precauções.
Sobredosagem: Se pensa que poderá ter tomado uma dose superior ao prescrito contacte o Centro de Informação Antivenenos ou os Serviços de Urgência de imediato.
NOTA: Este medicamento é apenas para si. Não o partilhe com outross.
Que fazer se falhar uma toma?
Se falhar uma toma, tome-a assim que puder. Se está quase na altura de tomar outra dose, tome apenas essa dose. Nunca tome duas doses deste medicamento.
O que pode interferir com este medicamento?
- cimetidina
- dexametasona
- praziquantel
- teofilina
Esta lista pode não incluir todas as possíveis interacções. Informe o seu médico sobre os medicamentos que esteja a tomar, incluindo medicamentos sem necessidade de prescrição médica, suplementos alimentares, produtos naturais ou dietéticos. Informe também o seu médico sobre o eventual consumo de bebidas com cafeína ou álcool, se fuma ou toma drogas ilegais. Todos poderão alterar os efeitos deste medicamento.
Que cuidados devo ter enquanto tomar este medicamento?
Visite o seu médico regularmente para acompanhar o tratamento e o seu progresso. Informe o seu médico se os seus sintomas persistirem ou se surgirem novos. Precisará fazer análises ao sangue quinzenais enquanto estiver a tomar este medicamento.
Não engravide enquanto estiver a tomar este medicamento e durante 1 mês após o tratamento. Consulte o seu médico sobre meios anticoncepcionais eficazes. Se suspeitar que está grávida, informe imediatamente o seu médico.
Poderá sentir sonolência, tonturas ou visão turva. Não conduza ou utilize qualquer tipo de máquinas, ou desenvolva qualquer tipo de actividade similar enquanto não souber até que ponto este medicamento afecta as suas capacidades. Para reduzir os riscos de tonturas ou desmaios, não se sente ou levante rapidamente, especialmente se for idoso.
Que efeitos secundários posso notar com a toma deste medicamento?
Efeitos secundários que deve reportar ao seu médico de imediato:
- reacções alérgicas como pruridos ou comichão, urticária, inchaço dos lábios, boca, língua ou garganta
- alterações da visão
- diarreia
- dificuldade em respirar
- ritmo cardíaco acelerado ou irregular
- febre, arrepios, dores de garganta
- dificuldade em urinar, com dores
- vermelhidão, bolhas, queda de pele, incluindo no interior da boca
- convulsões
- dores anormais
- feridas ou hemorragias anormais
- cansaço ou fraqueza anormais
- amarelecimento dos olhos ou da pele
Efeitos secundários que, normalmente, não necessitam de cuidados médicos (em caso de persistência ou incómodo, consulte o seu médico):
- tonturas
- queda de cabelo
- dores de cabeça
- náuseas, vómitos
- dores de estômago

Onde devo guardar o meu medicamento?
Mantenha-o fora do alcance de crianças.
Guarde este medicamento em local seco, sem luz e à temperatura ambiente entre os 15 e os 30 graus C (59 e 86 graus F). Mantenha a embalagem bem fechada. Deite fora medicamentos não utilizados após expirar o prazo de validade.
