Informations générales
Combivent est un inhalateur-doseur contenant une combinaison de l’albutérol et de l'ipratropium. L’albutérol et l'ipratropium sont des bronchodilatateurs qui relaxent les muscles des voies respiratoires et augmentent le flux d'air vers les poumons. Il est utilisé pour empêcher les spasmes des voies respiratoires (aussi connu comme bronchospasmes) provoqués par la maladie pulmonaire obstructive chronique (MPOC), y compris la bronchite chronique et l'emphysème. Combivent commence à agir dans 15 minutes, et les effets d'une dose durent en moyenne de quatre à cinq heures.
Posologie
Utilisez Combivent conformément aux prescriptions de votre médecin. La dose initiale recommandée pour le traitement de la bronchopneumopathie chronique obstructive (BPCO) est de deux pulvérisations de Combivent quatre fois par jour. Vous ne devriez pas prendre plus de 12 inhalations de Combivent au cours de 24 heures. Agitez l'inhalateur pendant au moins 10 secondes avant chaque pulvérisation. Le pulvérisateur doit être inhalé dans les poumons, c’est-à-dire il ne faut pas le pulvériser dans l’arrière-gorge et puis l’avaler.
Précautions
Avant d'utiliser Combivent avertissez votre médecin si vous avez une maladie cardiaque, hépatique ou rénale, le diabète, le glaucome, l’épilepsie, des problèmes de miction, la thyroïde hyperactive (hyperthyroïdie), la pression artérielle élevée (hypertension), l’accélération du rythme cardiaque (tachycardie), le rythme cardiaque irrégulier (arythmie). Ce médicament peut provoquer une vision floue et peut nuire à votre pensée ou aux réactions. Soyez prudent si vous conduisez un véhicule ou faites tout ce qui vous oblige à être vigilant et de voir clairement.
Contre-indications
Vous ne devez pas utiliser Combivent si vous êtes allergique à l'albutérol, l'ipratropium, l’atropine, au soja, aux arachides. Avisez votre médecin si vous êtes enceinte ou allaitez.
Effets secondaires possibles
Arrêtez d'utiliser Combivent et obtenez de l'aide médicale d'urgence si vous avez la haute pression artérielle, l'urticaire, des troubles de vision, des difficultés à respirer, des douleurs thoraciques, le bronchospasme, le gonflement de votre visage, des lèvres, la saisie, la toux, la pneumonie, les infections des sinus, la congestion ou l’écoulement nasal. Les effets secondaires moins graves peuvent inclure: une diarrhée, des crampes dans les jambes, des maux de tête, des nausées, des maux d'estomac.
Interaction des médicaments
Informez votre médecin de tous les autres médicaments que vous utilisez, notamment: les diurétiques (furosémide, métolazone, bumétanide), la digoxine, des pilules pour maigrir, la méthanthéline, le glycopyrrolate, les inhibiteurs de la MAO (tranylcypromine, phénelzine, furazolidone), les bêta-bloquants (carvédilol, propranolol, aténolol) , les bronchodilatateurs (tiotropium, ipratropium), le clidinium, l'atropine, la scopolamine, des médicaments utilisés pour traiter la maladie de Parkinson (trihexyphenidyl, benztropine), les antidépresseurs tricycliques (doxépine, clomipramine, nortriptyline).
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez que vous avez une surdose du médicament, cherchez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes de surdosage sont des nausées, le rythme cardiaque irrégulier, la transpiration, des douleurs thoraciques, une faiblesse, la bouche sèche, des douleurs abdominales, la vision floue, des difficultés à uriner.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 59-86 degrés F (15-30 degrés C) à l’abri de la chaleur et de l'humidité.
