Combivent (Ipratropium Bromide/albuterol Sulfate)
Informazioni generali
Combivent è un spray predosato contenente una combinazione di salbutamolo e ipratropio. Il salbutamolo e l’ipratropio sono broncodilatatori che rilassano i muscoli delle vie respiratorie per aumentare il flusso d'aria ai polmoni. È indicato per la prevenzione di spasmi delle vie aeree (noto anche come broncospasmo) causati dalla broncopneumopatia cronica ostruttiva (BPCO), tra cui bronchite cronica ed enfisema. Combivent agisce entro 15 minuti e gli effetti di una dose dura , in media, circa 4-5 ore.
Indicazioni
Assumere Combivent esattamente come prescritto dal medico. La dose iniziale raccomandata per il trattamento della broncopneumopatia cronica ostruttiva (BPCO) è di due spruzzate, di Combivent, quattro volte al giorno. Si consiglia di non effettuare più di 12 inalazioni di Combivent in 24 ore. Agitare l'inalatore per almeno 10 secondi prima di ogni spruzzo. Lo spray deve essere inalato nei polmoni, non spruzzato sulla parte posteriore della gola e ingerito.
Precauzioni
Prima di utilizzare Combivent è necessario informare il medico se si soffre di: malattie cardiache, malattie epatiche o renali, diabete, glaucoma, epilessia, problemi di minzione, iperattività della tiroide (ipertiroidismo), pressione alta (ipertensione), rapida frequenza cardiaca (tachicardia), ritmo cardiaco irregolare (aritmia). Questo farmaco può causare possibile problematiche come la visione offuscata e può compromettere il pensiero o le reazioni. Prestare molta attenzione se ci si mette alla guida o se si è intenti nel far qualcosa che richiede prudenza e la possibilità di vedere chiaramente.
Controindicazioni
Non è consigliato l’uso del farmaco ai pazienti allergici al albuterolo, all’ipratropio, all’atropina, alla soia e agli arachidi. Informare il medico in caso di gravidanza o allattamento.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Se si presentano problematiche come l’aumento della pressione arteriosa, orticaria, disturbi della vista, difficoltà respiratoria, dolore toracico, broncospasmo, gonfiore del viso, labbra, convulsioni, tosse, polmonite, infezioni del seno e congestione nasale è necessario bloccare l’uso di Combivent e cercare assistenza medica. Effetti collaterali meno gravi possono includere: diarrea, crampi alle gambe, mal di testa, nausea e disturbi di stomaco.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Informare il medico su tutti gli altri farmaci contemporaneamente in uso, in particolare: diuretici (furosemide, metolazone, bumetanide), digossina, pillole dimagranti, methantheline, glicopirrolato, inibitori MAO (tranilcipromina, fenelzina, furazolidone), beta-bloccanti (carvedilolo, propranololo, atenololo) , broncodilatatori (tiotropio, ipratropio), clidinium, atropina, scopolamina, medicinali usati per trattare il morbo di Parkinson (triexifenidile, benztropina) e antidepressivi triciclici (doxepina, clomipramina, nortriptilina).
Dose mancata
Assumere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Se è quasi ora della dose successiva basta non assumerla e tornare ad assumere il farmaco come previsto. Non prendere una dose extra del medicinale per compensare la dose dimenticata.
Overdose
Se si pensa di aver assunto un sovradosaggio del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica. I sintomi di sovradosaggio possono essere: nausea, battito cardiaco irregolare, sudorazione, dolore toracico, debolezza, secchezza della bocca, dolore addominale, visione offuscata e difficoltà a urinare.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 15-30 gradi °C (59-86 gradi F) lontano dal calore e dall’umidità.
