Información general
Ditropan pertenece a la familia de medicamentos llamados anticolinérgicos. También es un antiespasmódico. Ditropan también está aprobado para el tratamiento de problemas de la vejiga debido a músculos de la vejiga hiperactiva (causado por la espina bífida u otros problemas neurológicos) en niños de seis años de edad y mayores.
Instrucciones
Tome Ditropan exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. La dosis inicial recomendada para problemas de vejiga en los adultos es de 5 mg dos o tres veces al día. Si es necesario, su médico puede aumentar la dosis hasta 5 mg cuatro veces al día para controlar sus síntomas de la vejiga. Este medicamento puede tomarse con o sin comida. Trague este medicamento entero con agua u otros líquidos. No triture, mastique, o rompa las pastillas. Una dosis inicial más baja (2,5 mg dos a tres veces al día) se recomienda generalmente para los ancianos, que pueden ser más sensibles a los efectos secundarios. La dosis inicial recomendada para problemas de vejiga en niños de cinco años y más años es de 5 mg dos veces al día. Si es necesario, el médico del niño puede aumentar la dosis hasta 5 mg tres veces al día.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Ditropan debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene enfermedad del corazón, insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva, enfermedad renal o hepática, cirrosis, glaucoma, miastenia grave, la presión arterial alta (hipertensión), enfermedad por reflujo gastroesofágico (ERGE), agrandamiento de la próstata, la colitis ulcerosa , tiroides hiperactiva (hipertiroidismo), hernia. Informe a su médico si está embarazada o amamantando.
Contraindicaciones
No tome Ditropan si usted es alérgico a la oxibutinina o a cualquiera de los ingredientes del medicamento, tiene una pérdida aguda de sangre, retención urinaria, atonía intestinal, miastenia gravis, megacolon, íleo paralítico, uropatía obstructiva.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Obtenga ayuda médica de emergencia si usted tiene la boca seca, estreñimiento, dolores de cabeza, somnolencia, náuseas, diarrea, debilidad, visión borrosa, mareos, ardor de estómago, infección de la vejiga. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, consulte a su médico.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: inhibidores de la proteasa (atazanavir, ritonavir, indinavir), medicamentos antimicóticos o antibióticos (ketoconazol, isoniazida, itraconazol, eritromicina), medicamentos pramlintide, anticolinérgicos (diciclomina, la clozapina, trospio, ipratropio), inhibidores de la acetilcolinesterasa (tacrina, galantamina, donepezilo). La interacción entre los dos medicamentos no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico sobre todos los medicamentos, de venta libre-, y de los medicamentos a base de hierbas que está tomando.
Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato. Los síntomas de sobredosis son aumento de la presión dentro de los ojos, constipación severa, dificultad para orinar, sequedad de la piel, boca seca, dificultad para respirar, deshidratación, temblores, pérdida de memoria, vómitos, fiebre, confusión, ritmo cardíaco irregular (arritmia), presión arterial baja ( hipotensión) o presión arterial alta (hipertensión).
Almacenamiento
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 68-77 grados F (20-25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
