Informations générales
Hytrin est dans un groupe de médicaments appelés alpha-bloquants. Il détend les vaisseaux sanguins, permettant au sang de circuler à travers eux plus facilement. Hytrin est utilisé pour le traitement de la haute pression artérielle (hypertension). L’abaissement de la pression artérielle permet de prévenir les accidents vasculaires cérébraux, les crises cardiaques et des problèmes rénaux. Il est également utilisé pour le traitement de l’élargissement de la prostate (hypertrophie bénigne de la prostate). Térazosine aide à détendre les muscles dans la prostate et la vessie. Cela contribue à l’amélioration de l'écoulement de l'urine et à la diminution des symptômes de la prostate. Térazosine ne ralentit pas et n’arrête pas la progression de l'hypertrophie de la prostate.
Posologie
Prenez Hytrin conformément aux prescriptions de votre médecin. En cas de l'hypertension artérielle, la dose recommandée pour les adultes commence par 1 mg au coucher et elle est accrue lentement jusqu'à ce qu'on atteint la réaction de la pression artérielle désirée. La dose usuelle varie de 1 mg à 5 mg par jour. La dose recommandée pour les adultes pour le traitement de la prostate commence par 1 mg au coucher, et s'augmente aux intervalles quotidiens à 2 mg, 5 mg ou 10 mg une fois par jour pour atteindre l'amélioration souhaitée des symptômes. En cas des maux d'estomac, vous pouvez le prendre avec de la nourriture ou du lait.
Précautions
Avant de prendre Hytrin vous devriez aviser votre médecin si vous avez une pression artérielle basse, une faiblesse, le cancer de la prostate, d'autres problèmes de la prostate ou de la vessie, une maladie du foie. Ce médicament peut vous rendre somnolent ou étourdi. Ne conduisez pas de véhicule ou n’effectuez pas d’activité qui exige de la vigilance. Limitez la consommation des boissons alcoolisées. L'alcool peut augmenter certains des effets secondaires.
Contre-indications
Vous ne devriez pas prendre Hytrin si vous êtes allergique à la térazosine ou à l'un des médicaments de type quinazoline. Avisez votre conseiller en santé si vous êtes enceinte ou allaitez.
Effets secondaires possibles
Obtenez de l'aide médicale d'urgence si vous avez des maux de tête, une fatigue inhabituelle, une somnolence, une congestion nasale, la faiblesse, des douleurs dorsales ou articulaires, des nausées, une vision floue, des vomissements, des étourdissements, des douleurs thoraciques, des étourdissements, des évanouissements, un rythme cardiaque rapide ou irrégulier, l'essoufflement, un gonflement des pieds ou du bas des jambes, le gain de poids, l’urticaire, des difficultés respiratoires, un gonflement du visage, des lèvres, de la langue. Si vous remarquez d'autres effets non énumérés ci-dessus, consultez votre médecin.
Interaction des médicaments
Informez votre médecin de tous les autres médicaments que vous utilisez, notamment: les médicaments contre les problèmes d'érection masculine (tadalafil, vardénafil, sildénafil), les antihypertenseurs (vérapamil, métoprolol, bumétanide, triamtérène), des alpha-bloquants (alfuzosine, tamsulosine), des relaxants musculaires ( carisoprodol), les analgésiques narcotiques (codéine, morphine), des médicaments psychiatriques (chlorpromazine, amitriptyline). L'interaction entre deux médicaments ne signifie pas toujours que vous devez cesser de prendre l'un d'eux. Informez votre médecin ou le prescripteur de tous les médicaments sur ordonnance, en vente libre et des herbes médicinales que vous prenez.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez que vous avez une surdose du médicament, cherchez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes de surdosage sont des étourdissements, des évanouissements, une respiration superficielle, un pouls faible mais rapide, et la peau froide et moite.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 68-77 degrés F (20-25 degrés C) à l’abri de la lumière, de la chaleur et de l'humidité. Ne conservez pas les médicaments dans la salle de bain. Conservez tous les médicaments hors de portée des enfants et des animaux domestiques.
