Información general
Kemadrin pertenece a una clase de medicamentos llamados anticolinérgicos que actúan bloqueando una sustancia natural (acetilcolina). Kemadrin se utiliza para tratar los síntomas de la enfermedad de Parkinson o movimientos involuntarios, debido a los efectos secundarios de ciertos medicamentos psiquiátricos (antipsicóticos como la clorpromazina o haloperidol).
Instrucciones
Tome Kemadrin exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. Para el tratamiento de la enfermedad de Parkinson la dosis inicial recomendada es de 2,5 mg tres veces al día (después de las comidas). Su médico puede aumentar su dosis a 5 mg tres veces al día (después de las comidas) o incluso cuatro veces al día (después de las comidas y al acostarse). Para el tratamiento de los síntomas extrapiramidales la dosis inicial recomendada es de 2,5 mg tres veces al día (después de las comidas). Su médico aumentará su dosis según sea necesario. La mayoría de personas les va bien con una dosis de 10 mg a 20 mg en total por día. Tome cada dosis con un vaso lleno de agua. Tómelo a la misma hora todos los días.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Kemadrin usted debe hablar con su médico si tiene agrandamiento de la próstata (hiperplasia prostática benigna), psicosis, esquizofrenia, glaucoma, frecuencia cardíaca rápida (taquicardia), dificultad para orinar, la discinesia tardía, problemas con el alcohol, la obstrucción de la vejiga, enfermedad del músculo , problemas mentales o del humor, algún tipo de alergia. Este medicamento puede causar mareos, somnolencia o visión borrosa. No conduzca o realice tareas que requieren vigilancia. Evite el consumo de las bebidas alcohólicas. Se puede aumentar la somnolencia y mareos. Evite el sobrecalentamiento.
Contraindicaciones
Usted no debe tomar Kemadrin si usted es alérgico a ella, al clorhidrato de prociclidina, o a cualquiera de los componentes inactivos de este medicamento, o si tiene glaucoma de ángulo cerrado. Informe a su médico si está embarazada o amamantando.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Obtenga ayuda médica de emergencia si usted tiene dificultad para respirar, estrechamiento de la garganta, urticaria, hinchazón de los labios, lengua, o cara, fiebre inusual, latidos cardíacos rápidos o irregulares, ansiedad, alucinaciones, confusión, hiperactividad, o perdida de la conciencia, agitación, desorientación, comportamiento inusual, convulsiones, dolor en los ojos, erupción, sequedad de boca, pupilas dilatadas, visión borrosa, somnolencia, dificultad para orinar, estreñimiento, malestar estomacal, disminución de la sudoración. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, consulte a su médico.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: antidepresivos tricíclicos (doxepina, amitriptilina, clomipramina), fenotiazinas, la acetilcolinesterasa (rivastigmina, tacrina, galantamina), antiarrítmicos pramlintide, (disopiramida, procainamida, quinidina), amantadina, digoxina, haloperidol, antihistamínicos (difenhidramina, clemastina, brompheniramine), corticosteroides (prednisona), inhibidores de la monoamino oxidasa (furazolidona, isocarboxazida, linezolid), analgésicos narcóticos (meperidina). La interacción entre los dos medicamentos no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico acerca de todos los medicamentos, de venta libre, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que está tomando.
Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato. Los síntomas de sobredosis son latidos cardíacos rápidos o lentos, respiración lenta o superficial, inconsciencia, convulsiones, pérdida de coordinación, fiebre, piel seca, pupilas dilatadas, cambios en la visión, cambios en la cantidad de orina, confusión, alucinaciones, dolores de cabeza, náuseas, vómitos , sequedad de boca, nerviosismo, debilidad muscular, glaucoma, presión arterial alta (hipertensión), frecuencia cardíaca rápida (taquicardia).
Almacenamiento
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 59-77 grados F (15-25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. No guarde los medicamentos en el cuarto de baño. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
