Información general
Terramicina es un antibiótico llamado tetraciclina. Se utiliza para curar ciertas infecciones bacterianas. Terramicina es un antibiótico de amplio uso en la actividad clínicamente probada contra las bacterias gram-positivas y gram-negativos, rickettsias, espiroquetas, los virus grandes, y los protozoos cierto. Es eficaz en las infecciones causadas por cepas sensibles de estafilococos, estreptococos, neumococos, Haemophilus influenzae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, el bacilo de Koch-Weeks, y Proteus.
Instrucciones
Tome Terramycin exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. Tómelo con el estómago vacío al menos 1 hora antes o 2 horas después de comer a la misma hora cada día. Dosis usual para adultos es de 2.1 g dividido en cuatro dosis iguales, dependiendo de la severidad de la infección. La terapia debe continuarse durante al menos 24-48 horas después de los síntomas y la fiebre hayan desaparecido. Evite tomar leche, productos lácteos, jugos enriquecidos con calcio antes y después de consumir la droga.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar terramicina debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene problemas de riñón o del hígado, diarrea, infección de estómago. Usted debe evitar el contacto con personas que tienen infecciones virales. Terramicina puede aumentar el riesgo de mareos o somnolencia. Evite la realización de las tareas que requieren vigilancia mental (de conducción, manejo de maquinaria pesada, etc).
Contraindicaciones
No use Terramycin si usted es alérgico a cualquier ingrediente de ella o para otros antibióticos de tetraciclina, si usted está tomando acitretina o metoxiflurano. Dígale a su médico si está embarazada o amamantando.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Busque atención médica de emergencia si tiene náuseas, hinchazón de la cara, enrojecimiento, diarrea, urticaria, pérdida de apetito, sensibilidad a la luz, dolor de estómago, visión borrosa, fiebre, irritación vaginal, vómitos. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, consulte a su médico.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: atovacuona, litio, anticonceptivos orales (píldoras anticonceptivas), o las penicilinas (amoxicilina). La interacción entre los dos medicamentos no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico sobre todos los medicamentos, de venta libre-, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que está tomando.
Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis

Almacenamiento
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 68-77 grados F (20-25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. No guarde los medicamentos en el cuarto de baño. Guárdelo en un recipiente hermético. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
