Informations générales
Karela est un médicament de l'Himalaya contenant un extrait purement végétal de Momordica charantia (ou courge amère). C'est un agent laxatif et digestif puissant avec des des propriétés anti-inflammatoires et anti-flatulentes. C'est une plante contenant du fer qui est également enrichie en vitamines (B1, B2, B3 et C), en potassium et en calcium. Il est surtout efficace contre le diabète sucré de type 2. Il aide à maintenir un taux normal de glucose dans le sang.
Posologie
Prenez ce médicament exactement comme prescrit par votre médecin. Suivez attentivement toutes les recommandations données par un médecin. Evitez de dépasser la dose ou de prendre le médicament plus longtemps que recommandé. Avalez ce médicament avec un verre plein d'eau ou de lait. Vous devez discuter avec votre médecin une liste d'autres médicaments que vous pouvez prendre simultanément avec Karela. Si vous utilisez d'autres médicaments ou des compléments alimentaires sans permission de votre médecin, cela peut entraîner une aggravation sérieuse.
Précautions
Prévenez votre médecin si vous souffrez d'hypertension artérielle. Pour éviter un effet négatif sur le bébé à naître, ce médicament n'est pas pris par les femmes enceintes puisqu'il peut provoquer des contractions, devenir la cause des métrorragies et de l'avortement. Il peut également provoquer le favisme et peut être toxique pour les enfants.

Effets secondaires possibles
Aucun effet secondaire de ce médicament n’est connu puisqu’il n'est pas un stimulant, mais un produit naturel. Une majorité des patients n'ont pas connu de réaction sévère au médicament, mais on doit effectuer obligatoirement une recherche constante.
Interaction des médicaments
Il peut interagir avec le chlorpropamide qui peut provoquer une hypoglycémie.
Omission de dose
Si vous avez manqué votre dose, prenez-la dès que possible. En cas où il est presque le temps pour la prochaine dose, ne prenez pas la dose oubliée et gardez votre calendrier de dosage habituel. Évitez de compenser une dose oubliée en prenant une dose supplémentaire.
Surdosage
Si vous croyez que vous avez utilisé trop de ce médicament, demandez de l’attention médicale d'urgence. Vous devez le faire même si des symptômes de malaise ou d'intoxication ne se manifestent pas tout de suite. Vous pouvez avoir besoin de soins médicaux urgents.
Conservation
