Levothroid (Levothyroxine)
Informations générales
Levothroid est prescrit pour le traitement de l'obésité, de l’hypothyroïdie primaire, secondaire, tertiaire; l’hypothyroïdie infraclinique. Son composant principal est la lévothyroxine sodique, une substance identique à l'hormone thyroïde.
Posologie
Il est recommandé de prendre le médicament suivant la prescription de votre médecin. Il doit être pris 30-60 minutes avant le petit déjeuner avec un verre d'eau. Evitez d’arrêter le traitement sans l’accord de votre médecin.
Précautions
Les personnes d’âge moyen, les patients présentant une insuffisance surrénale, des maladies cardiovasculaires devraient être prudents lors du traitement avec le médicament.
Contre-indications
Les patients présentant un infarctus aigu du myocarde, l'hyperthyroïdie et l'insuffisance surrénalienne non soignée ne devraient pas utiliser ce médicament.
Effets secondaires possibles
Les effets secondaires peuvent être les suivants: de l’anxiété, des céphalées, l’insomnie, la nervosité ou l’irritabilité, l’hyperactivité, la labilité émotionnelle, la fièvre, la tachycardie, l’arythmie, des bouffées de chaleur, des sueurs, des changements dans vos menstruations, des changements d'appétit, des diarrhées, des vomissements, des changements de poids, une perte de cheveux, des bouffées de chaleur.
Interaction des médicaments
Avant de commencer le traitement, veuillez informer votre médecin concernant tous les médicaments que vous prendriez, en particulier sur les points suivants: du carbonate de calcium, du polystyrène sulfonate de sodium, du sulfate ferreux, du sucralfate, les antiacides contenant de l'aluminium, des hypocholestérolémiants, du colestipol, de la cholestyramine, la warfarine, la digoxine, le lithium, les agents anti-thyroïdiens, le phénobarbital, les rifamycines, les produits d'œstrogène, les médicaments de traitement du diabète, de l'amiodarone, de l'iodure, les bêta-bloquants, les antidépresseurs et les hormones de croissance.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose omise dès que possible. S'il est presque l’heure de la prochaine prise, il suffit de sauter la dose omise et de revenir à votre horaire habituel.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez avoir pris une sur dose de ce médicament, demandez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes de surdosage sont des troubles de rythme cardiaque, des douleurs thoraciques, des tremblements, des crampes dans les jambes, de l’obnubilation et une désorientation, de l'essoufflement, des vomissements, de la diarrhée, ou des convulsions.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 59-77 °F (15-25 °C) à l’abri de la lumière et de l'humidité, hors de portée des enfants et des animaux domestiques.
