Synthroid (Levothyroxine)
Información general
Synthroid es un medicamento recetado para el tratamiento del terciohipotiroidismo primario, secundario y terciario, el hipotiroidismo subclínico, y la obesidad. El medicamento contiene levotiroxina sódica, una sustancia idéntica a la hormona de la glándula tiroides. Puede ser utilizado en la co-administración con las píldoras de dieta.
Instrucciones
Se recomienda tomar el medicamento como se lo indique su médico. Tómelo con un vaso grande de agua. Por lo general, la dosis recomendada es de 30-60 minutos antes del desayuno. No exceda la dosis.
Precauciones
Tenga cuidado al usar este medicamento si usted tiene enfermedad cardiovascular, insuficiencia suprarrenal concomitante.
Contraindicaciones
Los pacientes con infarto agudo de miocardio, tirotoxicosis subclínica no tratada o manifiesta, y la insuficiencia suprarrenal no corregida, no pueden tomar el medicamento.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Los efectos secundarios pueden ser los siguientes: ansiedad dolor de cabeza, insomnio, nerviosismo o irritabilidad, hiperactividad, inestabilidad emocional, fiebre, taquicardia, arritmias, sofocos, sudoración, cambios en su ciclo menstrual, cambios del apetito, diarrea, vómitos, cambios de peso, la pérdida del cabello, enrojecimiento.
Interacción con otros medicamentos
El medicamento puede interactuar con los siguientes medicamentos: carbonato de calcio (Oystercal, Caltrate, Citracal), sulfonato de poliestireno sódico (Kayexalate, Kionex), suplemento de sulfato ferroso de hierro, sucralfato (Carafate), antiácidos que contienen aluminio (Rulox, Tums, Maalox, Mylanta , Riopan, Amphojel, Gaviscon), medicamentos reductores del colesterol colestipol (Colestid) y colestiramina (Questran), warfarina, digoxina, productos de estrógeno, medicamentos para la diabetes, la amiodarona, yoduro, litio, agentes antitiroideos, fenobarbital, rifampicina, bloqueadores beta, antidepresivos y hormonas de crecimiento.
Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. Si es casi la hora de la nueva ingesta, omítala y vuelva a su horario.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato. Los síntomas de sobredosis son palpitaciones, dolor en el pecho, temblores, calambres en las piernas, confusión y desorientación, dificultad para respirar, vómitos, diarrea o convulsiones.
Almacenamiento
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 59 a 77 F (15-25 C) lejos de la luz y la humedad, lejos del alcace de los niños y las mascotas. No use después de plazo de vencimiento.
