O que devo dizer ao meu médico antes de tomar este medicamento?
Ele precisa de saber se tem alguma das seguintes condições:
- doença arterial
- demência
- consumir bebidas alcoólicas com frequência
- doença cardíaca ou hepática
- doença de Parkinson
- descontrolo da coordenação motora
- reacção invulgar ou alérgica a tioridazina, outros medicamentos, alimentos, corantes ou conservantes
- se está grávida ou a tentar engravidar
- se está a amamentar
Como devo tomar este medicamento?
Tome este medicamento por via oral com um copo de água. Tome a sua dose a intervalos regulares. Não tome o medicamento mais frequentemente do que prescrito. Não pare de tomar excepto sob indicação do seu médico ou profissional de saúde.
Fale com o seu pediatra quanto à utilização deste medicamento em crianças. Poderão ser necessários cuidados especiais. Embora este medicamento possa ser prescrito em casos específicos a crianças, precauções serão necessárias.
Sobredosagem: Se pensa que poderá ter tomado uma dose superior ao prescrito contacte o Centro de Informação Antivenenos ou os Serviços de Urgência de imediato.

Se falhar uma dose, tome-a assim que se puder. Se estiver próximo da hora da toma seguinte, tome apenas essa dose. Não tome dose em duplicado ou dose extra.

Não tome este medicamento com nenhum dos seguintes:
- amoxapina
- trióxido de arsénio
- alguns antibióticos como claritromicina, eritromicina, gatifloxacina, grepafloxacin, moxifloxacino, esparfloxacina
- cisaprida
- clozapina
- diltiazem
- droperidol
- efedrina
- gefitinib
- imatinib
- levometadil
- anestesias locais
- medicamentos para a depressão mental
- medicamentos para controlo de ritmos cardíacos irregulares
- octreotido
- pentamidina
- fenilpropanolamina
- pimozida
- pindolol
- propranolol
- ranolazina
- risperidona
- terbinafina
- trimetobenzamida
- ziprasidona
Este medicamento pode também interagir com os seguintes:
- barbitúricos como fenobarbital
- diuréticos

Pode sentir-se sonolento, com tonturas ou visão turva. Não conduza, utilize máquinas, ou faça algo que exija alerta mental mental até saber qual a sua reacção a este medicamento. Não se levante ou sente rapidamente, especialmente se for um doente mais velho, para reduzir o risco de tonturas ou desmaios. O álcool pode aumentar possíveis tonturas ou sonolência. Evite bebidas alcoólicas.
Este medicamento pode reduzir a resposta do seu organismo ao calor ou frio. Tente não ficar demasiado quente. Evite temperaturas extremas, tais como saunas, ou banhos ou duches frios ou muito quentes. Agasalhe-se em tempo frio.
Este medicamento pode torná-lo mais sensível ao sol. Mantenha-se afastado do sol. Se não pode evitar a exposição ao sol, use roupas protectoras e protector solar. Não use lâmpadas bronzeadoras (solários).
Pode sentir secura da boca. Mastigar pastilhas sem açúcar ou chupar rebuçados e beber muita água pode ajudar. Contacte o seu médico se o problema persistir ou se agravar.
Que efeitos secundários poderei notar com a toma este medicamento?
Efeitos secundários que deve reportar ao seu médico o mais rapidamente possível:
- visão turva
- inchaço mamário em homens ou mulheres
- leite materno em mulheres que não estão a amamentar
- dor no peito, batimentos cardíacos rápidos ou irregulares
- confusão, agitação
- urina amarelo escuro ou castanho
- dificuldade em respirar ou engolir
- tonturas ou desmaios
- sialorreia, agitação
- febre, calafrios, dor de garganta
- movimentos involuntários ou incontroláveis dos olhos, boca, cabeça, braços e pernas
- crises convulsivas
- dores de estômago
- hemorragia ou nódoas negras invulgares
- invulgarmente fraco ou cansado
- amarelecimento da pele ou olhos
Efeitos secundários que normalmente não requerem atenção médica (diga ao seu médico ou profissional de saúde se persistem, ou se são incómodos):
- dificuldade em urinar
- insónia
- cefaleia
- disfunção sex
- erupções cutâneas ou prurido

Onde devo guardar o meu medicamento?
Mantenha-o fora do alcance das crianças.
Conservar a temperatura inferior a 30 graus C (86 graus F). Manter o recipiente bem fechado. Deite fora medicamentos não utilizados após expirar o prazo de validade.
