Antivert (Meclizine)
Informazioni generali
Antivert è un antistaminico che viene utilizzato per prevenire o trattare la nausea,il vomito e le vertigini causate dalla cinetosi. Può anche essere utilizzato per ridurre stordimento, vertigini e perdita di equilibrio (vertigini) causata da malattie che colpiscono l'orecchio interno. Agisce bloccando i recettori di istamina e di acetilcolina.
Indicazioni
Assumere Antivert esattamente come prescritto dal medico. Per prevenire e trattare la cinetosi, lo dose corretta di prescrizione è da 25 mg a 50 mg da assumere un'ora prima dell'imbarco, ripetuta ogni 24 ore se necessario. Antivert di solito agisce in maniera migliore se si assume prima che si manifestino i sintomi della cinetosi. Per trattare le vertigini, la dose standard è da 25 mg a 100 mg in totale al giorno, da somministrare in due (o più) piccole dosi al giorno. Prendete Antivert con un bicchiere pieno d'acqua, a stomaco pieno o vuoto.
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento con Antivert informare il proprio medico se si hanno:ingrossamento della prostata, difficoltà di minzione, malattia di Alzheimer, asma, iperattività della tiroide (ipertiroidismo), malattie cardiache, pressione alta (ipertensione), malattie polmonari ostruttive croniche, glaucoma ,ulcere dello stomaco, malattie da reflusso gastroesofageo (GERD) o eventuali allergie. Questo farmaco può causare sonnolenza ,vertigini o causare visione offuscata. Non guidare o svolgere attività che richiedono attenzione. Limitare l'assunzione di bevande alcoliche.
Controindicazioni
Non assumere Antivert se si è allergici ad esso, a Meclizine cloridrato, o ad uno qualsiasi dei componenti inattivi del farmaco. Evitare l'assunzione anche in caso di gravidanza o d'allattamento. I bambini con età inferiore ai 12 anni non devono utilizzare Antivert.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si hanno:disturbi visivi, riduzione della minzione o minzione dolorosa, convulsioni, eruzioni cutanee, prurito, gonfiore, vertigini, problemi di respirazione, secchezza delle fauci, nausea, diarrea, dolore addominale, aumento di appetito, mal di gola, aumento di peso, tachicardia, battito cardiaco irregolare, confusione, glaucoma, respiro affannoso. Se si notano altri effetti non elencati sopra, contattare il medico.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso, in particolare riguardo a:antistaminici applicati alla pelle (crema difenidramina, pomate, spray), antispastici (atropina, alcaloidi della belladonna), farmaci per il morbo di Parkinson (benztropina, triexifenidile), scopolamina, antidepressivi triciclici (amitriptilina ), farmaci inibitori dell'acetilcolinesterasi (galantamina, donepezil), farmaci con fenotiazina (flufenazina, tioridazina, trifluoperazina).Si noti inoltre che l'interazione fra due farmaci non necessariamente deve portare ad una sospensione dell'utilizzo di uno dei due farmaci. Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso compresi i farmaci da prescrizione,quelli da banco e i prodotti erboristici.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. I sintomi da sovradosaggio sono:cambiamenti di umore, estrema sonnolenza, perdita di coscienza, convulsioni.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 68-77 gradi F (20-25 ° C) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità. Non conservare Antivert in bagno. Conservare lontano dalla portata dei bambini e degli animali domestici.
