Orlistat è un farmaco indicato per chi desidera perdere peso. Appartiene al gruppo degli inibitori della lipasi. Funziona direttamente nello stomaco e non influenza l'equilibrio ormonale nel cervello. Può essere prescritto a persone con problemi di salute come ipertensione, diabete o alti livelli di colesterolo. Funziona bloccando l'assorbimento dei grassi e riducendo il numero di calorie che si ottiene da un pasto.
Indicazioni
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento con Orlistat informare il medico se si soffre di una sindrome da malassorbimento cronico o problemi alla cistifellea, calcoli renali, anoressia o bulimia, diabete, se si assume ciclosporina o qualsiasi altro farmaco per la perdita di peso.
Controindicazioni
Non è consentito l’utilizzo del farmaco ai pazienti in condizioni di gravidanza e allattamento, con problematiche come il malassorbimento, problemi renali e funzione della colecisti ridotta (ad esempio dopo colecistectomia).
Possibili effetti collaterali
Tra gli effetti indesiderati più comuni troviamo: reazione allergica, spotting oleoso su indumenti intimi, liquido color arancione o marrone nelle feci, feci oleose o grasse, perdita di feci o un bisogno urgente di andare in bagno o incapacità di controllare i movimenti intestinali; scarica di gas, scarica oleosa, mal di stomaco, nausea, vomito, diarrea, dolore rettale, aumento del numero di movimenti intestinali, perdita di appetito, debolezza, feci color argilla, urine scure, prurito o ittero, problemi ai denti o gengive ; sintomi del raffreddore come naso chiuso, starnuti, tosse, cefalea, mal di schiena, febbre, brividi, mal di gola, sintomi influenzali; leggera irritazione della pelle. Se si verifica uno degli effetti indesiderati sopra elencati si prega di contattare il medico.
Interazione farmacologica
Orlistat interagisce con i seguenti farmaci: ciclosporina e Warfarin.
Dose mancata
Assumere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Se è quasi ora della dose successiva basta non assumerla e tornare ad assumere il farmaco come previsto.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di avere assunto un sovradosaggio del farmaco, cercare assistenza medica immediatamente.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 20-25 C (68-77 F).
