Maxalt (Rizatriptan)
Informazioni generali
Maxalt (rizatriptan) è un farmaco per il mal di testa che restringe i vasi sanguigni intorno al cervello. Fa parte di una classe di farmaci contro l'emicrania chiamati agonisti 5-HT. Rizatriptan riduce le sostanze nel corpo che possono scatenare mal di testa, nausea, sensibilità alla luce e suono, e gli altri sintomi dell'emicrania. Maxalt è utile solo a curare un mal di testa che è già iniziato. Non impedirà al mal di testa di sopraggiungere in futuro o di ridurre il numero di attacchi.
Indicazioni
Utilizzare questo farmaco esattamente come è stato prescritto dal proprio medico. Prendere Maxalt solo quando si avvertono i sintomi di un’ emicrania. Deglutire le compresse Maxalt intere con con un bicchiere pieno d'acqua, indifferentemente a stomaco pieno o vuoto. Non prendere più di 30 mg di compresse Maxalt in un periodo di 24 ore.
Precauzioni
Prima di prendere Maxalt, informi il medico se si hanno malattie epatiche o renali, ipertensione, un disturbo del ritmo cardiaco o malattia coronarica. Non prendere Maxalt entro le 24 ore prima o dopo l'uso di un altro farmaco di emicrania. Non prendere Maxalt se avete preso un inibitore della monoamino ossidasi (MAO) o tranilcipromina negli ultimi 14 giorni.
Controindicazioni
Non si dovrebbe prendere Maxalt se si è allergici al rizatriptan, se si hanno malattie cardiache, o malattie coronariche, angina, problemi di circolazione sanguigna, il diabete. Mettere il proprio medico a conoscenza se è incinta o se si sta allattando.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Gli effetti indesiderati più comuni di Maxalt comprendono: orticaria, vertigini, debolezza, nausea, offuscamento della vista, parestesia, dolore toracico, secchezza delle fauci, difficoltà respiratorie, diarrea con sangue, arrossamento. Smettere di usare Maxalt e chiamare subito il medico se si ha uno di questi effetti collaterali.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Informare il proprio medico di tutti i medicinali attualmente in uso, in particolare: antidepressivi (fluoxetina, duloxetina, citalopram), inibitori delle monoaminossidasi (fenelzina, tranilcipromina), inibitori selettivi della ricaptazione della serotonina (SSRI), farmaci derivati dalla segale cornuta (diidroergotamina, pergolide). Si deve informare il proprio medico su qualsiasi altro medicinale che si sta assumendo, compresi i farmaci da prescrizione e da banco, vitamine e prodotti di erboristeria.
Dose mancata
Dal momento che Maxalt è utilizzato quando necessario, non ha un programma giornaliero fisso di dosaggio.
Sovradosaggio
Se pensi di aver assunto un’ overdose del farmaco cercare assistenza medica di emergenza immediatamente. I sintomi di sovradosaggio sono cefalea, confusione, battito cardiaco irregolare, visione offuscata, convulsioni.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 59-86 gradi F (15-30 gradi C) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità. Conservare in un contenitore stretto.
