El levonorgestrel es una hormona esteroide sintética que tiene un efecto similar a la progesterona y se utiliza en la fórmula de las píldoras anticonceptivas. Esta droga tiene un ingrediente activo superpotente - norgestrel que es un isómero de la progesterona. Levonorgestrel tiene como objetivo prevenir el embarazo por medio de la inhibición de la ovulación. Ello obstaculiza transporte de esperma a óvulos hacia el útero para evitar la concepción. Debido a la ingesta de este fármaco disminuye el riesgo de embarazo no deseado. Levonorgestrel debe tomarse dentro de las 72 horas después de la cópula en caso de que no se aplicaron los métodos anticonceptivos, o el método aplicado no era seguro.
Instrucciones
Este remedio se debe tomar por vía oral. Usted debe tomar dos comprimidos de la siguiente manera: la primera tableta que se toma justo después de la cópula (a más tardar dentro de 72 horas), la segunda tableta es tener en 12 horas (pero no más de 16 horas) después de la primera tableta. El Pillet levonorgestrel de 0,75 mg se puede tomar en cualquier día de la menstruación para que siempre su ciclo sea sin ninguna desviación. Después del tratamiento de emergencia de levonorgestrel que se aplica, utilizace los métodos locales de barrera anticonceptiva (preservativo).
Precauciones
Evite el uso de levonorgestrel recurrentemente durante un ciclo menstrual, ya que puede provocar una interacción adversa. Puede afectar negativamente el período menstrual. En algunos casos, la píldora de anticoncepción de emergencia no es eficaz en la inhibición del embarazo. Los métodos anticonceptivos regulares, no deben ser sustituidos por tomar este medicamento. La fórmula de levonorgestrel puede afectar la composición de la leche materna, por lo que debe tomar después de la lactancia materna para evitar un posible efecto negativo sobre su hijo. La lactancia materna debe ser evitada después del tratamiento. Usted tiene que notificar a su médico si usted sufre de trombosis, diabetes, inflamación de la vagina, las enfermedades de transmisión sexual, infección pélvica, la hipertensión, la enfermedad de válvula cardiaca, debilidad del corazón.
Contraindicaciones
En caso de que usted está embarazada, este medicamento no se va a aplicar, ya que no inhibe el embarazo que ya ha ocurrido. Tomar el levonorgestrel debe detenerse en el caso de los pacientes que sufren de sangrado vaginal anormal, infección pélvica, una infección pélvica grave después de un embarazo o un aborto en los últimos 3 meses, una historia de enfermedad pélvica inflamatoria (EPI), los tumores fibroides uterinos u otras condiciones de alterar el la forma del útero, el cáncer de mama en el pasado o presente, benigno / maligno tumor en el hígado, el cáncer cervical, un frotis de Papanicolaou anormal reciente, que no es diagnosticado o tratado, las enfermedades de debilitamiento del sistema inmunológico (SIDA, leucemia, o el abuso de drogas IV), en el caso de tiene otro dispositivo intrauterino (DIU).
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Efectos secundarios posibles incluyen náuseas enfermedad, dolor de estómago, mareos, sensibilidad en los senos, debilidad, dolor de cabeza, cambios en el ciclo de la menstruación, alteración en el funcionamiento del sistema digestivo.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
El uso de otros remedios estimula las enzimas hepáticas, acelera el metabolismo de levonorgestrel. Los medicamentos que pertenecen a la clase de sedantes, las drogas que inducen el sueño y anticonvulsionantes que se utilizan en el tratamiento de la epilepsia y en el tratamiento de ritmos cardiacos anormales pueden dificultar la eficacia de levonorgestrel. Estos medicamentos son: barbitúricos, la fenitoína, incluyendo primidon, carbamazepina, medicamentos que contengan hipérico en su fórmula (Hypericum perforatum), rifampicina, ritonavir, rifabutina, griseofulvina. Los medicamentos que contienen levonorgestrel pueden aumentar la toxicidad de la ciclosporina.
Dosis olvidada
Como este medicamento se puede aplicar sólo en el caso de la emergencia fuerte, si falta una dosis, no se presupone.
Sobredosis

Almacenamiento
Este medicamento debe ser almacenado a temperatura ambiente entre 20-25 º C (68-77 F). El proceso de almacenamiento se administra lejos de la humedad, el calor y la luz del sol. No se recomienda guardarlo en un cuarto de baño y lugares para los niños.
